Barry Rutherford is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the husband of Rosalyn Rutherford, the father of Kenneth Rutherford, the grandfather of Marissa Cleveland (née Rutherford) and Geoff Rutherford, and the great-grandfather of Justin Cleveland. Barry is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Fortune aspiration, and the Capricorn zodiac sign. As far as personality, Barry is very playful, quite neat, and a little bit nice. But he is very lazy and somewhat shy.

According to Barry's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was blond before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 13 days left in the elder life stage when he died. Barry's facial structure is almost, if not identical to the 2nd Maxis face template in Create a Sim. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. However Barry still has memories of Kenneth's birth, as well as his granddaughter Marissa getting engaged and married.

Barry is an anglicized diminutive of the Irish Fionnbharr, meaning fair hair.
