- Not to be confused with Business.
Business is a career available in The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4.
Of the ten career tracks in the base game, Business had the third-lowest pay at rank 1 but the third-highest at rank 10, behind only Entertainment and Pro Athlete, and follows a similar pay curve to those two. Requiring 14 friends to reach maximum rank, it was also tied with Entertainment for second-hardest career track to climb (behind Politics). At rank 10, its ratio of pay to friends required is pretty average ($1200/14 friends = 85.7), but lower than those of the career tracks with the most similar pay curves (Pro Athlete and Science). Out of the 20 career tracks in the base game, Livin' Large, and Unleashed, it offers more or less average pay at rank 1, is in a three-way tie (with Journalism and Paranormal) for fifth-highest pay at rank 10, and has the sixth-highest combined pay over all ten ranks ($5400), but is in a three-way tie for fifth-hardest to climb.

The Career reward object is the Execuputter. It is unlocked when a Sim reaches Executive (career level 5), and raises Fun and Charisma. If The Sims 2: Apartment Life is installed, Techs and Socialites are likely to be employed in this career. College majors associated with this career are Economics and Psychology. When using SimPE to change a Sim's career, the Business career will be labeled as Economy.

The obtainer of coffee - glamorous, no, but at least it gets you out of the office and into the "fresh" city air much of the time. Not to be confused with the small furry semi-aquatic woodland creature, an office gofer is one who goes for things at the request of pretty much anyone who isn't a gofer themselves. Business is one of the basic career tracks in The Sims 3. It's the only career track that doesn't require any skills for promotion. Sims can be employed from newspaper, computer, or office building. Because skills no longer contribute the performance factor to Business career, attending work and building relationships with boss and coworkers are more important. Schmoozer trait will be suitable for Sims who work in Business. Sims must hold meetings many times as a performance factor in this career track.
Sims can pull prank with their coworkers and boss inside the office building as long as the target is working inside. A successful prank will give a relationship boost to the target, and if the target is the boss, the career performance will also increase. On the other hand, a failed prank will give a relationship drop to the target, and if the target is the boss, the career performance will decrease.
- Performance tones
- Business as Usual
- Power Work - Increases performance faster but adds stress
- Take It Easy - Increases fun but lowers performance
- Meet Co-workers - Meets new coworkers
- Chat at Water Cooler - Builds relationship with coworkers
- Suck Up to Boss - Builds relationship with the boss
- Sleep Under Desk - Increases energy
- Hold Meetings - Adds the number of "Meetings Held" factor if held for at least 1.5 hours and earns extra cash
