A canning station is available for purchase from The Sims 3 Store as part of the "Brunch at the Old Mill" set, for 1,700 SimPoints. It cannot be bought on its own.
Sims have the option of making preserves or jam of almost any harvestable in their garden, which can then be sold or eaten. Jams can be eaten on toast or scones.
