Chandra Karana is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the son of Sohan and Indira Karana, the husband of Thuyet Karana (née Motoko), the father of Vivian Cho (née Karana), and the grandfather of Etsu Cho. Chandra is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Popularity aspiration, and the Aquarius zodiac sign. As far as personality, Chandra is quite playful and somewhat nice. But he is somewhat sloppy, shy, and lazy.

According to Chandra's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was black before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 18 days left in the elder life stage when he died. Chandra uses the 10th Maxis face template in Create a Sim, except the eyes are closer to the forehead than on the default template, and the jaw is slightly longer. However the jaw is only longer on teenage, adult and elder females, which may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down.

Chandra's SimDNA in SimPE shows that he carries the recessive allele for dark blue eyes. Additionally, his dominant skin tone range is for medium skin, while his recessive skin tone range is for tanned skin. However, Chandra's dominant and recessive alleles are for tanned skin. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. Despite this, Chandra still has memories of the birth of Etokas, and meeting his grandchild Etsu. According to Vivian's memories, Chandra died while Vivian was pregnant with Etsu. Despite his Lifetime want, he isn't interested in Food.
