Derek Gibson is one of the pre-made NPC gardeners who resides in Four Corners, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims Life Stories. The other two gardeners are Heidi Kalson and Maura Wilson. He can be made playable by befriending and asking him to move in, or by marrying him. Derek has short blond hair, grey eyes and medium skin. He is a Family Sim with the Cancer zodiac sign. As far as personality, Derek is very active, quite nice, and a little bit playful. But he is very sloppy, and extremely shy.

When it comes to Derek's skills, he has maximized the body skill, is close to maximizing the creativity skill, and is on his way towards maximizing the charisma skill. He is mostly interested in Travel. Derek has the same facial structure as Gary Thompson. His turn ons/offs are randomized at the start of the game. It is only referenced in the game files that he has no turn ons/offs. Often going unnoticed, Derek has 22 personality points instead of the usual 25.

Due to Gardeners not being hirable in Sims Life Stories, as plants never need maintenance, Derek will never appear ingame and is effectively an unplayable sim.
