Discovery Quest (The Sims FreePlay)

Discovery Quests in The Sims FreePlay are quests that one can complete at the same time as main quests. They usually unlock by building a place or finding a person to start. There are some quests that can be done in time-limit. Note that the discovery quest must be done one at a time.

"Book of Spells" Quest

This quest starts after you built the Sorcerous Supplies from level 8 onward. After completing this quest, you will unlock spell casting hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock a pet dragon.

• Buy a crystal ball (S 5000) from Sorcerous supplies
• Place a crystal ball in a house (you will find it in the decorations section of your inventory once you have brought it)
• Look into the crystal ball- 30 seconds
• Gaze into the crystal ball- 30 seconds
• Pick up the magic wand- 2 seconds
• Unlock the door to the wand room: Randomly Rearrange- 2 hours 30 minutes
• Pick up the magic wand- 30 seconds (magic wand podium- pictured below)
• Use a crystal ball to go home- 1 second
• Act casual on a couch- 10 hours
• Place the magic wand podium in your house (from hobbies section of inventory, pictured below)
• Cast random spells- 13 hours 30 minutes (using magic wand podium)

• Use the magic wand (cast random spell on magic wand podium)- 13 hours 30 minutes
• Watch emergency broadcast- 2 hours 30 minutes

"Saved by the Spell" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 8. It starts after you completed the Book of Spells Quest and find the wizard in the park After completing this quest, you will unlock potion brewing hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock a wizard cottage.

• Talk to the Wizard- 1 minute
• Examine the crystal ball (next to the wizard in the park)
• Ask the Wizard- 1 minute (in park)
• Read real world magic- 1 hour (bookshelf)
• Invite a sim to a dinner party- 3 hours 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
• Send two sims to the park.
• Explain about imagination- 5 hours 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
• Have two sims sit at the dinner table- 5 minutes (in park) GLITCH- if your sims are unable to sit at the table, leave the park and go back to your sims need to sit down quickly before the other characters can.
• Check in with the Wizard- 1 hour 15 minutes
• Dream of magic- 19 hours (bed)
• Tell a sim about dream- 7 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
• Dance wildly in the rain- 12 hours 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)

"A Dance To Remember" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 8/9. It starts after you clicked the salsa dancers (next to the thinking man statue) at the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock salsa dancing hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock rugs for houses.

• Watch the dancing couple - 2 minutes
• Enthuse to a sim about dancers- 12 seconds
• Talk to the dancers- 15 minutes
• Take the car at the park to the villa
• Explore the villa - 2 hours
• Have 5 sims at the villa (use whistle at your sim tracker)
• Eat Hors D’oeures- 10 minutes (on the table in the villa)
• Have 5 sims cheer on the fantasias- 2 minutes
• Have 2 pairs of Sims (2 pairs = 4 Sims) - 10 hours 30 minutes
• Thank the fantasia’s- 1 minute (select interaction with one of them)
• Have all sims leave the villa (click on the car to drive home)
• Have a sim hibernate- 19 hours (can be started early)
• Salsa dance to a stereo- 16 seconds
• Read spicy salsa from a bookshelf- 7 hours 30 minutes
• Place an ad on a computer- 12 minute
• Grow pumpkins- 1 day (can be started early)
• Check email- 36 seconds (on a computer)
• Send a sim to the park

"Nanny Knows Best" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 10. It starts after you clicked the nanny in the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock musical expressions hobby. 5-day time limit to unlock infant overalls.

• Pick up an infant - 8 seconds

• Send a sim home.
• Invite a date to the mall
• Summon courage on a couch- 12 hours 30 minutes
• Invite a date to the new mall- 5 minutes
• Send 2 sims to the mall
• Investigate strange noise- 10 hours 30 minutes
• Introduce your sim to the robot - 4 minutes
• Leave the mall
• Have 2 sims watch the news- 4 minutes
• Ask another sim to return to the mall- 2 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
• Remind sim about shopping- 3 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)

This quest is unlocked at level 12. It starts after you build the escalator of the mall once you have completed the Sunset Mall Quest. After completing this quest, you will unlock the Wumples Play Center. 7-day time limit to unlock see-saw.

• Send a sim to the 2nd floor of the mall
• Read poster - 1 minute
• Investigate the store - 2 minutes
• Ask the plant to move - 5 minutes
• Grill patties at the park - 20 minutes (using the BBQ)
• Feed burgers to the plant - 6 hours
• Clean the plant’s mess:
  • Broken tile- 5 hours 30 minutes
  • Trash- 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Trash- 30 minutes
• Call Sim Fashion - 24 minutes
• Return to plant (at the mall)
• Yell plant - 5 minutes

"Super Toddler Secret Mission" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 13. It starts after you find the superhero in the stables. After completing this quest, you will unlock the finger painting hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock cartoon hero costumes. Note that you need a toddler to accomplish this quest.

• Greet Superhero Ultra - 1 minute
• Accept mission - 2 minutes
• Send toddler home
• Draw plan of action - 12 hours 30 minutes (buy a blackboard from toddler section)
• Ask for milk and cookies - 2 hours 30 minutes
• Give cookie to a toddler (using a classic counter top)
• Ask for a second plate - 5 minutes
• Grab second plate of cookies - 5 hours 30 minutes
• Give cookies to Superhero Ultra - 6 hours 30 minutes
• Accept sidekick role - 15 minutes
• Watch cartoons - 2 hours 50 minutes
• Victory dance with Superhero Ultra - 5 hours 30 minutes

This quest is unlocked at level 14. It starts after you build the castle. After this quest, you can now access the castle and start achieving the archery hobby (by clicking the targets near the castle gardens) and jesters hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock pet fairies.

• Send a sim to the castle
• Search bushes near the castle - 1 minute 20 seconds
• Say hello to fairies - 3 minutes
• Pick flowers near the castle - 10 minutes
• Show fairy the flowers - 5 minutes
• Ask about chivalry - 4 hours 30 minutes
• Dream about royalty in bed - 10 hours
• Cook brisket in the park - 1 day (using the BBQ)
• Have 4 sims in the park
• Call to meal
• Tell the fairy about the feast- 3 hours 30 minutes
• Thank the fairy- 5 minutes
• Build courage on a park bench- 11 hours 30 minutes
• Catch monster fish - 6 minutes

This quest is unlocked at level 14. It starts after you meet the woman with the hard hat at the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock building the patios. 7-day time limit to unlock make-out couch.

• Talk to Bree (the woman with the hard hat) - 1 minute
• Ponder in a chair- 2 minutes 24 seconds
• Call a friend- 4 minutes
• Call cab to DIY home (by selecting option to the phone)
• Question Bree - 3 hours 30 minutes
• Join Bree for an interview- 18 hours 30 minutes
• Watch the interview at the DIY home- 4 minutes 30seconds (TV)
• Read the DIY magazine at the DIY home- 9 hours 30 minutes
• Have 2 sims at the DIY home
• Discuss Patio with a sim - 10 minutes
• Present ideas to Bree - 45 minutes
• Measure patio space - 18 hours 30 minutes (by selecting a sim's house and clicking x near the mailbox)
• Finalize patio space - 6 hours 30 minutes (talk to Bree)
• Bake pumpkin pie - 10 hours (can be started early)
• Prepare lemonade at DIY home - 3 hours 10 minutes (fridge)
• Clean the DIY home - 1 day
• Buy outdoor decorations (spend at least §5000)
• Fall asleep in a bath- 2 hours 20 minutes (can be started early)
• Hang out with a sim - 1 day
• Call Bree on a phone - 4 minutes
• Build a patio (go to the home store and open the patio tab; it appears with this message): To build a patio surface, touch and drag on the grass. Like building a room, green means you can build, red means that there is something in the way, you can also resize a patio by dragging the white highlighted edges. And like building a pool, you can join patios together.
• Have 3 sims at a DIY home
• Have 3 sims party with Bree - 8 hours 30 minutes (with outside stereo)
• Talk to Bree- 5 minutes
• Have all sims leave DIY home (use the simtracker to send them home)

"DIY HOMES: Lovey-Dovey Balconies" Quest

This quest is unlocked after you do The saved by the spell, Puppy Odessy, Dance to Remember and importantly Multistory renovations. It starts whenever you want because it's a discovery quest .Then, you would find the woman with the hard hat (Bree) at the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock building balconies. 7-day time limit to unlock planters and decorative privacy screens.

• Say hello to Bree- 2 minutes (at the community center)
• Ask Bree what’s up- 5 minutes
• Watch a DIY homes marathon- 15 hours (on TV)
• Research competitors on a computer- 10 hours
• Go to the DIY home (call the cab on a phone)
• Brainstorm with Bree- 5 hours 30 minutes
• Have 2 sims at the DIY home
• Explain role to another sim- 35 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
• Examine the cameras- 13 hours 30 minutes (select option on one camera at the DIY home)
• Have 2 sims rehearse flirting- 10 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
• Make out on a couch- 16 minutes (using the make out couch in the basement at the DIY home (if won in patio quest you can do this at home) one sim selects wait for partner, the other sim selects make out for 16 minutes
• Have 2 sims waltz together - 21 hours 30 minutes (select waltz in a stereo)
• Court another sim - 6 hours 30 minutes
• Kiss another sim - 1 minute
• Hide behind a bed - 12 minutes
• Chat with Grim - 45 minutes (click on the grim reaper)
• Read the original play- 1 day (DIY Home Bookshelf); 19 hours on a 3-star shelf
• Offer grim a new role- 5 minutes (click on the grim reaper)
• Act out the scene with the grim- 12 hours 30 minutes (click on the grim reaper)
• Re-shoot kissing scene- 5 minutes (select kiss on another sim)
• Comfort grim- 10 hours 30 minutes (click on the grim reaper)
• Email scenes to the network- 36 minutes
• Build a balcony at home (in order to build balcony, you need a two-story house to complete this). The message will appear: To build a balcony, touch and drag anywhere within the highlighted areas.Like building a room, green means you can build, red means that there is something in the way, you can also resize a balcony by dragging the white highlighted edges. And like building a pool you can join balconies together.
• Wrap things up with Bree - 9 hours 30 minutes
• Have all sims leave the DIY home

"DIY HOMES: Basement of Kings" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 17. It starts after you complete the Lovey-Dovey Balconies Quest. After that, you will find the woman with the hard hat (Bree) at the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock building basements. 7-day time limit to unlock a DIY home.

• Cheer up Bree - 5 minutes
• Accompany Bree to DIY home
• Check simbook on a computer- 41 minutes
• Vote obsessively on a computer- 7 hours 30 minutes
• Join Bree for an interview- 1 day
• Study the basement at the DIY home- 3 hours 30 minutes
• Play with a pet at home - 4 minutes (requires adult cat or dog)
• Have a pet find 3 treasures
• Share knowledge with Bree- 14 hours 30 minutes
• Ask Bree about poll- 35 minutes
• Grow strawberries- 1 day (can be started early)
• Make a double shot of coffee- 48 seconds
• Tell a joke to Bree- 25 minutes
• Build a basement (the message will appear): To build a basement, touch and drag anywhere within the area, you cannot build on swimming pools though
• Buy furniture and electronics (worth §2,000)
• Watch the ultimate movie marathon on TV- 19 hours
• Check in with Bree- 4 hours 30 minutes
• Hug Bree- 45 minutes
• Have all sims leave the DIY house
• Pump up the fans on a computer- 15 hours

"Extreme Home Takeover" Quest

The quest starts after you meet the real estate developer at the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock romantic furniture and the ability to submit houses for a chance for them to be added on the architect's tab menu so that other players can build them. 2-day time limit to unlock a hot tub.

• Ask Lucius (real estate developer) about Hubbub - 1 minute
• Go to work at a real estate
• Read a real estate sign - 6 hours 30 minutes
• Discuss home takeover with a sim- 1 minute (select the interaction between two sims)
• Search for well groomed sim on SimBook - 10 hours 30 minutes
• Extend or build a room
• Have a sim take a selfie - 10 seconds
• Post selfies on Lucius' SimBook - 6 hours
• Become incensed - 2 minutes
• Check fine print on a sign - 12 hours 30 minutes
• Buy an item from the Home Store
• Submit house via sign (you don’t even need to submit at this stage, just click on the sign then click the green arrow to complete the task, if you don’t do it now you can submit a house later- make sure a sim is at work as a real estate agent first so you can see the signs!)

Total time: 1 day 10 hours 4 minutes 10 seconds
