Ethan Barrett is a member of the Techs from the Magic secret sub-neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He appears in every neighborhood, being occasional the neighbor of Sims who live in a middle-high apartment. He can be made playable by befriending and asking him to move in, or by marrying him. Like all pre-made townies, Ethan's relationships with other townies are usually randomized at the start of the game.

Like all pre-made elder social class Sims, Ethan is unemployed at the start of the game. However, if certain other expansion packs are installed, the game may randomly assign him a career to match his social class, when he is first spawned in-game. As far as personality, Ethan is very outgoing, somewhat active, and a little bit neat; however, he is quite serious and grouchy.

Like all pre-made elder social class Sims, Ethan has no pre-set skill points. He is mostly interested in Health and Sports. Ethan has the same facial structure as Ryan Wheeler. According to his SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was blond before it turned grey. Despite his lifetime want, Ethan isn't interested in Food.
