Blair Mace was the husband of Ana Mace (née Curious) and the father of Kevin Curious.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Before joining the family[edit | edit source]

Blair, just like Camryn Curious and potentially Tiffany Curious, grew up in foster care and has no knowledge of his family. Although he knows that another Mace lives in Strangetown, he is not sure if Larry Mace is related to him. It is possible that Larry is either his father or older brother, but Blair never felt like finding out. He made several friends during his time in foster care and had a relatively good time there, compared to many other horror stories he has heard. He became long life friends with Gary Walton, Marion Almassizadeh and Trista Shaw and he kept in touch with them throughout his life. Although some of his friends got adopted and it was hard to see them go, he never minded too much that he never did.

He enjoyed his time in school, but could be considered an average student. He met Ana and Emma Curious and had never seen twins before. He immediately struck up a conversation and was attracted to Ana, but she did not seem as interested. Blair tries his best to get to know Ana and figure out if he she is just incredibly shy or not interested. He reaches out to Emma, who tells him that Ana told her she is not into Blair, but that he could take Emma out on a date if he liked. Disappointed and thinking that one date couldn't hurt, Blair agrees.

The two have their first date and by the end of it Emma leans in for a kiss. Overwhelmed by the action, Blair kisses her and shares his first kiss with Emma. He immediately realizes he wishes it had been Ana, which he feels terrible about. The two keep casually dating, mostly so Blair can come visit Emma and catch some glimpses of Ana. He often catches Ana staring at him, while he is staring at her and gets confused. On top of that it seems like Emma is catching on to things and becomes more and more jealous, as well as really clingy. Blair decides that the right thing to do is break things off with Emma. She does not take it well and slaps him in the face, saying that he is a liar and a cheater. Blair, being speechless by this reaction just stares at Emma storming off. For the rest of his time in high school he avoids both Curious sisters.

After graduating high school, he received a small grant from Crystal Curious, which was given to several people after getting out of foster care. This was set up after Crystal's passing in a way to help provide for the youth in need.

Adulthood[edit | edit source]

Still fearing the Curious sisters, as he still hears stories from his friends of Emma talking all kinds of evil about him and still being terribly in love with Ana, he decides to enlist in the military. It takes him out of town for a while and took his mind off of everything that was Strangetown. Returning back in town after a mission, he comes across Ana in a supermarket and wonders if he should talk to her or not. With all his courage he strikes up a conversation, but he sees that she is startled and wide eyed. Before he realizes it he jokes that he wasn't sure if she was Ana or Emma, which is obviously a lie and then makes it worse by saying that he wasn't sure if he should hide from her. Ana doesn't seem to respond or to be pleased about this, so he apologizes and wishes her a good day. As soon has he turns around he hears her ask if he would like some coffee sometime. With his heart bursting of joy, Blair tries to keep it cool and answers that he would love to.

Many coffee dates later, Blair is head over heels and can't believe he waited all these years to make a move. The two are getting serious and this also means that one unavoidable topic has to be discussed; how will Emma react to all this? Ana has told Blair that Emma is still very sour about their break up, but it's time for her to tell her sister. Blair offers to help her and be there for her, so she doesn't have to do it alone. As expected, Emma did not take the news well as the two showed up in front of her. She started hitting Blair as well as calling him all kind of nasty things. Wanting to work this out and redeem himself, Blair hoped to talk it out but Ana convinced him to just leave while her sister can cool off and think about it for a little bit. Although not happy about it, Blair leaves.

Luckily for Blair his relationship with Ana is great. Things seem to go a bit better between Emma and himself when she starts to date Léon Darga, although he notices that things are still tough between Ana and Emma, as Emma is often very passive aggressive towards her. He has a hard time finding out how to help her in that way, but still tries his best. He meets her parents, as well as her guardian Genesis and asks all of them for their blessing to marry her. To his relief they all do and plan a beautiful dinner with him in order to propose to Ana at dessert. His heart jumps of joy again when she says yes.

After a successful wedding, Ana tells Blair that she is expecting and he couldn't be more happy that he finally has his own little family. As Ana is planning on telling the family during one of their dinners, Emma announces that Léon and herself are engaged. He is stunned as the two have not been together for that long, but wishes them happiness. He notices that Ana is visibly upset as she wanted to tell the news about her pregnancy as well and not a second later Ana bursts out in tears. Consoling her, they explain what is happening and his in-laws jump up from joy with the news of becoming grandparents. He catches Emma giving him a dirty look, but chooses to ignore it to keep the evening from becoming a sour event.

After Emma and Léon's wedding, Ana gives birth to Kevin Mace and Blair couldn't be happier with the little boy. He loves to watch him and loves watching him with Ana even more. The two, still living in the busy Curious household decide to move out and get a place for themselves just down the road. When Ana comes to him asking if Emma and her husband Léon could move in and stay in their guest room, Blair immediatly thinks this is a bad idea. He tells Ana so and she confides that she doesn't really want to either, but Emma is her sister and family needs to help each other out. He reluctantly agrees and when they tell Emma she smiles at Blair with an evil grin. After Ana leaves the room Blair takes Emma aside and tells her that if Emma does anything to hurt his family he has no problem with kicking her out and she will never see Ana or Kevin again. Emma just smiles at him, pats his shoulder and walks away.

For a little while, everything seems fine in the new home. Things are getting tough when Ana's parents both die, shortly followed by Genesis. Ana is incredibly sad and has a hard time arranging their funerals, as Emma doesn't feel obliged to help. He spends a lot of time with Kevin and the two become great friends.

One night, Ana woke Blair up saying she could smell smoke. At first Blair didn't believe her but then the fire alarm went off. He immediately ran around the house to see where it's coming from, while Ana went to grab Kevin. While doing so he heard Ana scream saying that Kevin was not there. Confused Blair ran back to see what she meant and found Kevin's crib empty. The fire was spreading fast and the two kept running around the house trying to find Kevin. As more smoke filled up the rooms, Blair realized it was time to leave the house even if they couldn't find Kevin. He dragged Ana downstairs, who was desperate to find Kevin. With tears in his eyes he tries to get Ana outside but he finds out that the door is locked. They try to find their keys but can't seem to find it so Blair tries to see if he can break the glass or kick the door out. It seems like there was something tucked outside the front door as it would not budge. While Ana is still looking for Kevin, and Blair is looking for a way out, he sees that all windows are locked as well. They are stuck in the house with no way out. He yells for Ana to come down and get close to the door in order to get some air. She does so but collapses to the ground only minutes after. He desperately tries to save Ana and catches a glimps of Emma outside the front door, holding Kevin and smiling at him with an evil grin. Blair begs her to help them and keeps hitting the door until everything turns black. Blair did not make it out of the fire.
