Cycl0n3 Sw0rd is a preexisting Sim in Sunset Valley, and one of the significant minor characters of Time Paradox. Cycl0n3 Sw0rd is one of the few natives to side with the new Ecclesiarchy, actively playing a role as a news publisher, spreading news straight from the Ecclesiarchy itself. As a part of the Sunset Valley chapter, Cycl0n3 Sw0rd enjoys the status as a part of the ruling cabal and is living besides the Ecclesiarchal stewards of Sunset Valley, Esomena, Chrysanthema, and Pyrrha.

From the Start[edit | edit source]

Cycl0n3 Sw0rd has always been a significant presence in Greek perspective even at the First Timeline, even at the times of the Alkmaionids (and no one else). This was so as Kleisthenes was also pursuing a career in Journalism, and it happened to be that Kleisthenes first worked under Cycl0n3 Sw0rd, later to surpass him. Despite the change in status, Kleisthenes and Cycl0n3 Sw0rd were close friends, and Cycl0n3 Sw0rd remains to be one of the closest natives to the Greek immigrants. However, Cycl0n3 Sw0rd would be of much lower significance with the arrival of the two other Greek factions, Attalids and the Beauty 4, as none of the sims in each family ever worked in the Journalism career. Interestingly enough, this may have been due to the fact that Cycl0n3 Sw0rd had not forged a significant relationship with the fellow tech-savvy Eurydike, despite the fact that both shared a common trait. One could presume that a better relationship with Eurydike might have led to a faster assimilation of Cycl0n3 Sw0rd into the Greek-led community.

And one becomes a Philhellen[edit | edit source]

However, his position within the Greek perspective was somewhat raised with Hypatia taking the reins of power. Hypatia was somewhat interested in making the Greek presence known to the tech-savvy population of Sunset Valley, although Hypatia's introversion led that endeavor to make only limited progress. However, Cycl0n3 Sw0rd's reputation was strong, especially with the precedent of the Alkmaionid house, to the point where many of the Scholars' Alliance members, such as Kallisto, had advocated a closer tie with Cycl0n3 Sw0rd. Although Cycl0n3 Sw0rd hasn't become an insider in the Greek affairs, many of them, especially Kallisto, had made individual bonds with him, which was reversed temporarily with the beginning of the Second Timeline.

However, such reversals were only on the short run, and many of the members restored the relationship between them and Cycl0n3 Sw0rd, although Cycl0n3 Sw0rd still remained an outsider for a time being. However, such situation was reversed when Kallisto was the hegemon, and with the creation of what was then the Union of the Insane (now Ecclesiarchy) did the Greeks (at least of the Ecclesiarchy) start to aggressively move towards him. However, the actual recruitment had to wait after the creation of Hekatonschoinos, and even there Cycl0n3's role was relatively minor, until...

Stewardship with the Disciples[edit | edit source]

The Big 6 decides to combine themselves into a single household located at Hekatonschoinos. By necessity, they would have to maintain control of Sunset Valley with other respectable members. Epaphroditos was a possible candidate. However, the task fell to the disciples, Esomena, Pyrrha, and Chrysanthema to take charge of Sunset Valley, and it was then Cycl0n3 Sw0rd took on a niche in the media industry. As Kallisto cracked down on the paparazzis, Celebrity-oriented news became increasingly rare. In its place came Cycl0n3 Sw0rd, who published often informative articles with Ecclesiarchal documents. By then, Cycl0n3 Sw0rd was in charge of spreading Ecclesiarchal edicts in Sunset Valley, although there had been only two as of the moment. However, such information spreading was not his only task: he was also charged with analyzing things with varied degrees of success: on one hand, the notes about the nectar industry was considered one of the best (despite its inaccuracy, given that the Al-Dar Nectars also had share of life fruits contrary to the hype), although his comparison of the Papal State with Korea given its large proportion of flat-chested females was harped upon.

With the radicalization of the Papal policies, Sunset Valley also lost its share of paparazzis. By then Cycl0n3 Sw0rd reestablished connections with his old friend Kleisthenes in the Papal capital, from whom Cycl0n3 Sw0rd would now receive Ecclesiarchal news. There Cycl0n3 Sw0rd spread the news of the pet plague to Sunset Valley, which was fortunately largely devoid of dog and cat owners for the moment.
