Daniel Pleasant is the oldest child of the late Jeff and Diane Pleasant, and the older brother to Jennifer Burb. He is the ex-husband of Mary-Sue Oldie, the current husband of Kaylynn Pleasant, and the father of Angela, Lilith and Carter Pleasant. He is also the uncle to Lucy and Lachlan Burb.

Kaylynn was once just a maid, and the Pleasant family were one of her many clients. At a time when Daniel was getting bored with his marriage, he started to flirt with Kaylynn and convinced her he was in love with her. He promised to leave his wife for her, but at that point had no intention to do so. That was until his then-wife Mary-Sue came home after getting fired and caught them WooHooing. Mary-Sue angrily broke up with Daniel and immediately moved out. Not long after, Daniel proposed to Kaylynn, hoping to keep at an at least somewhat positive reputation.

A while later, Kaylynn gave birth to a baby boy, who she and Daniel named Carter.
