The heir of the Simerburg family is the stereotype of the workaholic Sim! Not even interested in family, the only thing he wants from his son is to be perfect.
Daniel was born in Midnight Hollow, where his family comes from. He spent his early years there. Then, when he grew up into a child, he and his parents moved to Neighborhood 1/Sunset Valley/Pleasantview. He spent the rest of his life there.
In The Sims 2, Daniel is a ghost. He cannot be seen in the game, since his tombstone has been destroyed. He only appears in his son's memories, and in his son and grandchildren family tree.
In The Sims 3, Daniel is an adult. He lives in Sunset Valley with his wife Leona and his son Karl Simerburg. Daniel has already fulfilled his lifetime by the time the game starts.
Daniel's relationships with his wife are quite low, since he spends most of his time working. He is also trying to interest his son into family legacy. He does not have many friends in the neighborhood, unlike his wife.
It is interesting to note that the rivalry between the Goths and the Simerburgs only began with Karl and Mortimer fighting. Indeed, Gunther and Cornelia were good friends with Daniel and Leona.
