David McDooglewurtz is the son of Scats and Sandy McDooglewurtz. Donald McDooglewurtz is his twin brother. David is a Lieutenant. With his wife Denene, he has a daughter named Deirdre. David inherited the red hair and dark blue eyes of his father. His nose is inherited from his mother.

As a child, David attended SimCity Academy. David attended Sim State University with his brother Donald, his best friend Stephan Benson, his brother's best friend Joe Grundstrom, and Rosemarie Jitmakusol as roommates. David and Rosemarie fell in love, but Stephan and Rosemarie later fell in love without telling David. After this, David and Rosemarie's romance cooled off. After graduating, David moved out of his father's home and into his own. He now lives there with his wife and daughter.
