In The Sims, Elise has just moved into Neighborhood 1 with her parents, Jonathan and Caridad Ionello, who she's very close with. Out of the three members of her family, Elise is the most exciting about living in the suburbs. As expressed in her biography, she's eager to get out of her parents shadow. Back in the City, she knew her life was confined to being just the heiress to the Ionello fortune. She pictured this clean slate as a way to create her own identity and create a career path of her own. Although these feelings seem to go over her mothers head, her frustration is understood by her father, who she feels a very deep connection with.
She has tan skin, a black ponytail, and wears a faded purple shirt, with pink shorts, and matching pink socks covered by white sneakers. Unlike her mother, she spends most of her time in Neighborhood 1, rather than Old Town. She is frequently seen with Jennifer Pleasant, who is she quite good friends with. Coincidentally, she's also friends with family-friend John Burb, who is the future husband of Jennifer.
In The Sims 2, Elise takes a much more central role than in The Sims. By the time the storyline has caught up to The Sims 2, Elise is already married to Bernie Whelan, and has a son, Jason. A few more family members of Elise were welcomed as well, like her fraternal twin siblings Zachary and Cordelia, niece Mariah, nephew Percy, aunts Alonda and Stephanie, uncles Julius and Isaac, cousins Carolina and Jordan, and even a first-cousin once-removed, Jada.
Elise is very close with all of the members of her family, mainly her husband, her son, her mom, Caridad, and siblings Zachary and Cordelia. Unfortunately her father, with whom she closest with, recently passed on before the beginning of the game. Elise remains to be good friends with Jennifer Burb, who actually bears a similar appearance to Elise. She also is close with Nina Caliente, who she uses as a way to get the most interesting information on the next gala or who's sleeping with who. Although she's close with Nina, she is very wary of Dina, and she is determined to find out if her intentions with Mortimer are pure.
Elise's appearance isn't too far from what's expected based on The Sims. She has flowing black hair, bold brown eyes, and the gorgeous skin tone shared by her mother. She wears a bright green top and wears blue jeans. Although apparently very beautiful, she has always been compared to her sister Cordelia. It's not that Cordelia is prettier than her sister, but Elise doesn't give out the same sex appeal that Cordelia does.
Elise currently is fairly far into the artist career, and plans on having six grandchildren. By the time The Sims 2 began, Elise discovered that she is having her second child. She excitedly awaits the second bundle of joy that will grace her and her husband's life.
