Emma Dean (née Spool) is a Sim who resides in Riverview with her husband George Dean. She has one sister Norma Bates, and a nephew Norman Bates whom she is estranged from.

Toodler[edit | edit source]

Emma was born in Spoolville, a tiny village in SimNation to Louis and Patsy Spool. Automatically she was favored over her paternal half-sister Norma who resented her sinced the moment she was born. Although the town was named after Emma's family name, by the time she was born, her family name and wealth was destroyed. Her family was dirt poor and was considered trash by the entire village.

Childhood[edit | edit source]

Emma had a fantastic childhood in the beginning, her parents adored her and she loved them very much. She tried as much as she could to get along with Norma, however, Norma deeply jealous of the attention their father showed Emma paid no attention to her sister and would often ignore her. Emma's late childhood would take a drastic turn as Norma ran off and got married to her high school sweetheart Sam Bates. Unable to cope with Norma gone, Louis would take his frustrations out on his wife and child. Emma would soon be in the very same position her sister was once in.

Teenage Years[edit | edit source]

Louis became more cruel to Patsy and Emma once Emma entered into her teen years. He would beat both of them on a daily basics, criticizing them for everything they did and for all the troubles he endured in his life. No one dared to mention Norma in his prescense and if they did, they would also get a beating for that. After enduring the abuse for awhile, tragedy would struck when Louis and Patsy was killed in a car accident. Now typically an orphan, Emma had no choice but to move in with Norma, Sam, and their young son Norman. Although at first she thought she was finally free of the abuse, she would get a double dose of it when she moved in with the Bates. By the time Emma arrived at the Bates household, Sam and Norma's marriage was crumbling and he was abusing his wife and son in the same manner that Louis abused his family. Norma was also still deeply jealous of her sister and would say cruel things to get Emma upset, and would punish her for no reason just because she felt like it. The only person she liked in the home was her young nephew Norman, who she felt the need to protect him from his parents. Soon Sam would turn his wandering eye on Emma and tried to make her sleep with him. A fearful Emma confided in Norma what Sam did and Norma reacted by blaming Emma for her marital troubles, and after poisoning Sam with food that she cooked, she promptly divorced him and left Spoolville with Norman. In her late teenage years, a sympathetic Emma took care of a very sick Sam. After his death, she would be shocked when the coroner conducted that Sam was poisoned. She realized that Norma had killed him, and with her painful past finally behind her, Emma would leave Spoolville behind in search of building her own family.

Young Adulthood[edit | edit source]

Emma would end up in Riverview. She purchased a lovely two story, two bedroom home in Long Island, and started a career in Journalism. She would soon met her neighbours, her boss Constance Shelley, Fatima Simovitch, and Shirley Lin. However, she didn't hit it off with them, and Shirley bored her to sleep, she promptly asked them to leave. After starting her job, she would become fast friends with her co-workers, Hannah Jones, and Ma Bagley. One night after leaving Ma's house, Emma decided to grab a bite to eat at The Bistro. There she would meet George Dean, where she practically saved him from being bitten by his roommate Jon Lessen. After learning that they had a shared trait, George and Emma soon became attracted to one another. Emma would soon asked him on a date which he agreed but ended kind of awkwardly, as both of them being nervous. Although the date ended awkwardly, George and Emma attraction became stronger and they decided to go on a second date. They hit it off well and had their first kiss and became a couple. George, being the family man that he is, took it a step further and proposed to Emma. She happily said yes. The next day, after a long and tired day at work, Emma received a phone call from Ma. She wanted to throw a bachelorette party, although Emma was dead tired, she said told Ma to have it. Ma, Hannah, and Emma's boss Constance arrived to the party. Everyone was having a good time with the food, drinks, music, and even a male stripper. However, Emma couldn't stay up any longer and asked everyone to leave. After being called a bridezilla by her friends and being told she had the lamest party of the century, Emma decided to marry George in private at her home, and George has sinced moved in.

Trivia Facts[edit | edit source]

  • Emma shares the Neurotic Trait with her sister and nephew, most likely due to all three of them growing up in abusive homes
  • Although half-sisters, Norma and Emma look very similar. Most likely they inherited their genes from their father Louis
  • Although she has the grumpy trait, due to her Good Sense of Humor trait, she rarely shows it, and the latter trait balances it out.
