Not much is known about Farmer, since he is deceased before the start of The Sims 3, and not mentioned in either The Sims or The Sims 2. One can tell from his outfit and his name that he was a farmer for most of his life. Strangely, if not very strangely, he only has one trait, which is loves the outdoors, similar to Kitty Landgraab. He has no lifetime wish as well.
Unlike most elders, his hair never went gray and stayed light brown. He also has muscle definition. He wears a green and plaid checkered shirt with overalls. His ponytail band is green and black striped as well.
His name in the Spanish version is "Guillermo Manzana" which is the Spanish form of William. It's possible his real name is William.
There is a deceased woman in Strangetown named Matilda who shares the same surname with him. They have no relation on the family tree.
