The Gethen family is a large family who resides in Hollow Valley. This family is somewhat, if not, much similar to Capp family, as Belladonna Gethen is in a secret relationship with Kevin Wolff while his family is currently involved in a feud with Wolff family. The family tree can be traced to the youngest generation's great-great-grandparents.

In the Gethen family, the husband takes the wife's last name instead of the wife taking the husband's surname, meaning that the family is matrilineal and that the head of the House of Gethen is Hela Gethen, since her first name means goddess of the underworld, in Norwegian.
