Henry's life was strictly good or bad. He married the kind and artful Mary Alder , a young woman from Europe, when he was twenty four, and had two beautiful daughters after only five years of marriage. But not before he lost his house and job. As his children grew up, he thought his life was turning around with his new restaurant and small house, but then Mary died. He was grieved, but recovered to run a very successful business and build a gorgeous new house.

He and his daughters Catharine and Embry moved to Flaxen County when the girls were teenagers. Henry could not afford to live in Bridgeport before his restaurant became super-successful, so they moved to what they thought was a quiet rural town.

Henry loves his daughters and is friends with a few other families in town, along with his employees. He can't wait for his first grandchild, so that he can enjoy raising children again.
