Hugo Gonçalves is a Sim who lived his life in Pleasantview and Riverview. As a young adult, he went University, being enrolled at Académie Le Tour, where he would meet his partner, Susan Richest, and mother of his beloved daughter, Bailey.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

During his younger years, he had a difficult relationship with his mother as she was too demanding. She wanted him to be a doctor, which he did not want. When he grew up, much to her dismay, chose to be a Philosophy majors instead. However, Hugo spent most of his time partying and slacking off, skipping many classes. He enjoyed tinkering instead, and was a fitness enthusiast instead.

In the dorm, he met Susan, to whom he was very attracted to. He initially did not know she was the daughter of an acclaimed scientist.

Hugo found Susan's fear of the social bunny endearing, and began teasing her. A seductive Romance Sim, Hugo's advances were accepted by Susan, so he asked her out on date. The date was a dream come true, Susan couldn't be more charmed, so they went back to the Dormitory and WooHooed.

Susan revealed who her mother was and Hugo was dumbfounded. However, as he had been a 10 average student in his first semester, and knowing Susan was a prolific student, and expecting her to be gifted, he asked her to help with his school projects, and well-intentioned, Susan did help him. She also talked to her mother everyday, who told her to focus on her studies.

Susan would, however, not to be so keen on burdening herself, as she was starting to feel nauseous very often. She would learn she was pregnant and both felt very scared. Susan thought she couldn't let her grades drop because of the scholarship, so their roles reversed. Although maybe not quite since Hugo did not really understand her major at all, but he could still with babycare. Even though Hugo was a Romance Sim, he was quite attached to Susan and chose to stay by her side during her pregnancy.

Susan, influenced by her mother who did not know of her pregnancy, focussed on her studies even when their daughter, Bailey, was born. Thinking Hugo wouldn't dedicate himself to his major anyways, she asked him to take care of their baby, which he would. However, he would start becoming annoyed that she expected him to take care of their baby so she could mantain keep her scholarship and excellent while he was falling behind.

Hugo was already tired of university, the boring classes, his annoying colleagues, and couldn't bear having Susan prioritize her studies over everything else, including him. He thought her mother to be very overbearing, as she was calling Susan everyday to their dorm room.

Finally, he was fed up with being second to Susan's priorities. He told her he was going to give up his major and move out of the dorm, shocking her greatly. She did not accept at first, and tried amending their relationship. Hugo insisted and told her he was taking their baby with him, since he had been his primary caregiver since her birth, leaving Susan bewildered.

After some dispute, Susan finally let Hugo go. Hugo dropped out of the University, moved back to Pleasantview, where he would raise his daughter on his own, then move to Riverview.
