June Straight is a sim who resided in Riverview during the majority of her life (although she grew up in Sunset Valley). She lived with her wife, Janet. They also had adopted a son, Dane. June grew up to resemble her mother, having inherited her long black hair and a similar facial structure.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

June never really knew her father well, as her parents divorced shortly after she was born. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Morgana and Leighton Sekemoto.

Sexuality[edit | edit source]

When June was 15, she came out as bisexual. However, she was already in a content relationship with her boyfriend, Taylor Baggett, so she didn't experiment with women during her teen years.

After High School[edit | edit source]

Right out of high school, June and Taylor eloped and moved into a modest 3-bedroom ranch together. She began training to join the police force, which was her dream job. However, a huge wrench was thrown into the works.

Her father's death[edit | edit source]

One day, an attorney and a caseworker from child services showed up at her front door. They informed her that her father and step-mother (Eileen) had passed. Since neither of them had written a will, their kids (Kirsten, Dani, and Nadine) were to be placed in custody of her, since she was the closest living blood relative. However, she didn't hesitate and gladly raised them as if they were her own.

Taylor's affair[edit | edit source]

While June adapted to parenthood quite well, her husband had very polarizing views on children. They took up more and more of June's time, so Taylor began to grow lonely and their relationship began to deteriorate. Taylor then began to have an affair with a woman named Janet. They were involved for a few months before June found out and filed for divorce. In the divorce settlement, she got the house so she and the kids would at least have a place to live.

Other Relationships[edit | edit source]

After a little while, June and Taylor eloped almost immediately after the finalization of the divorce. After a little while, June began to see an older man named Darren Bowens, but quickly broke things off.

Taylor and Janet's marriage was short-lived, as he also cheated on her. She reconciled with June and the two became friends. Both of them had a feeling that there was something more than friendship between them. One day while hanging out, they shared an unexpected kiss, and began dating.

Move to Riverview[edit | edit source]

A few months into June and Janet's relationship, Janet gave her some bad news; she had to move as the Sunset Valley division of Sim Labs was merging with the Riverview division. However, June decided to take a chance on true love, and moved to Riverview with her (as did Justine Schwarz and her mother, as her boyfriend also worked for Sim Labs). She saw it as a fresh start to escape all the drama that happened with her family. Things were genuinely looking up for them.

Getting remarried[edit | edit source]

June didn't rush into marriage with Janet, and they had a stable relationship. In fact, they lived together for a couple years before June proposed. They had a small ceremony with only their closest family and friends.

Adoption[edit | edit source]

A little while after the wedding they decided they wanted children. The couple adopted a baby boy, whom they named Dane.

By the time Dane was a teen, Justine announced her divorce from her (now ex) husband, Mike. June gladly took her and her daughter, Starr, in. Justine was basically family; June and Janet saw her like the daughter they never had.

Elder Years[edit | edit source]

June was unfazed by the fact that her elder years were already upon her. She continued to work in Law Enforcement, and her marriage to Janet was still going strong.

However, one night, June, Janet, Justine, and Starr left Dane home alone while they went to see a movie. They came home to find the kitchen engulfed in flames. But it was too late; Dane was gone. June and her wife stuck together throughout this difficult time and managed to cope with their son's death. Taking their accumulated wealth, June and Janet started, in his honor, The Dane Straight Foundation, a charity raising money to educate underprivileged kids. However, Dane soon began to show himself around the house in the form of his ghost. Thanks to science, June was able to "resurrect" him.

By now, June had finally completed one of her lifelong dreams. She finally reached the top of the Law Enforcement career, becoming an International Super Spy. She currently has plans to release an autobiography about her life.

However, her happiness did last long. Dane and his fiancée, Leanna, had just gotten married. Shortly after the ceremony, Janet fainted. She was taken to county care general hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival, citing natural causes.

A few months after the death of her wife, June's nephew, Tristan, had moved in to help take care of her. June had finally published her autobiography, Unexpected Parenthood, about the trials and tribulations she experienced when raising her three sisters.

However, June wouldn't live to see her book's success. At the age of 89, June passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was survived by her half-sisters Kirsten, Dani, and Nadine, and by her son, Dane. In the will, the house was left to her nephew, Tristan. The publishing rights for her autobiography were left to her sister, Kirsten. Per her request, a large portion of June's wealth was donated to a children's charity. June never retired from the police force, and worked up until the day of her death.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Rodney and Morgana don't show up in the family tree as June's parents since their Graves weren't in the household when she moved to Riverview.
    • Because her relationship with her parents was wiped, I had to set her relationships with her siblings using NRAAS Master Controller. Due to this, Kirsten, Dani, and Nadine are recognized as her sisters instead of her half-sisters.
  • Even though June's bio states that she took on parenthood quite well, she does not have the Family-Oriented Trait.
