Lance was too young to remember his father's affair with Tamsin Mayer, but he was old enough to feel it's repercussions. His parent's divorce left Lance shy and socially awkward. However, after the birth of his half brother, Zakary, and the death of his father's ex-fiancée, Kate Pistachio, he plucked up the confidence to ask out the woman he grew up with, Ceara, leading to their eventual marriage and the birth of three troublesome triplets!
Lance was born to Archer and Opal somewhere unknown in Simland. When he was just a toddler, his parents moved to Sunset Valley together with the Mayer family, and their daughter, Ceara, into 250 Redwood Parkway.
Archer proceeded to have an affair with Tamsin Mayer, which lead to a series of fights and an long-term frosty atmosphere in the household. After Lance aged up into a child, Opal finally divorced Archer and left the household, leaving Lance motherless and in the care of his wayward father, and trauma that has continued to haunt him. Meenwhile, his childhood roommate and best friend from birth, Ceara, was able to keep her happy family life, as her mother Tamsin reunited with her husband Eoghan.
The remnants of the two families decided to stay together as one household, much to the shock of the community and to Lance, and they moved to 65 Maywood Lane, along with Archer's new girlfriend Kate. As Lance and Ceara became teenagers, Lance' underlying feelings for her began to bubble, but his shyness would leave him unable to act on it.
