Romeo Monty
Biography
Though Romeo's chasing of every attractive woman in Veronaville remains undeterred, he still pines for his first love, Juliette. Can he win her back, or will Juliette forever be the one that got away?
Romeo Monty is the younger son of Claudio and Olivia Monty, and second grandson of Patrizio Monty. He lives in Veronaville on the Monty ranch, with his older brother Mercutio, sister-in-law Bona, and niece Amanda.
Despite being siblings, Romeo and Mercutio have always gotten along, and each considers the other his best friend. This bond proved invaluable when the two lost their parents at a young age, Claudio to a shooting by a rival gang, and Olivia to complications related to her pregnancy. With each other's help, the two were able to adjust somewhat to living with their grandparents, and eventually to Patrizio and Isabella's deaths.
In high school, Romeo dated Juliette Capp, even though his grandparents forbade him from spending any time with members of the rival family. Although he is uncomfortable with commitment, he let Juliette tell her friends that he was officially her boyfriend, and promised that she is his best girl. At the same time, he attempted repeatedly to put the moves on Rosaline Ulett, whom he met at a party thrown by Juliette's brother Tybalt. Though Rosaline rejected him at every turn, he remains undeterred.
With the death of Patrizio, Romeo is first in line to become head of the Monty family after his brother Mercutio. He has always expected to go into the family business, since his father was in it, but never thought that he would be preparing for such a responsibility before he even finished high school. Now that he's an adult, he's become a foot soldier in the Monty gang as a bagman.
Toward the end of his high school career, Juliette unexpectedly broke up with Romeo and refused to see him. He has attempted to rekindle their relationship, but she will hear none of it. Though he has found some solace in flirting with Mercutio's new maid, he still pines for his first love.
