The Summer Heat Wave[edit | edit source]
It's hard to believe that we have been here for a full year already. 21 days to be exact. Most of us have level 5 home businesses. I'm the only one with a level 4 home business, but that is partly because I am focused on making sure everything runs well as well as running around the area to gather up some plots of land to have some more businesses around. Not easy work, I tell you.
Take the Fisher Home for example. On the evening of 1/3/2 just after I get into bed, I get a fanatic call from Nick. He says that there is someone dressed in a black and white striped clothing and a black beanie stealing things. I couldn't believe that anyone would do such a thing, but I quickly ran to their house. I actually ran into the kid as he was trying to make an escape, so he didn't get away. When I realized who it was, I took him to his parents to have them deal with it and went back home to bed.
The next morning I get a very angry visit from Chris. "Do you know that I had my open sign and a couple of restock signs stolen last night?!"
"Yes, Chris, I do know about that. I did catch the kid who did it."
"Who was it? Nick told me he didn't know him. From the way he described him, I can't figure out who it was either."
"If you don't know who he is, then it is best that it stays that way."
"No way am I going to just let him go. He's got to pay for what he did!"
"Chris! Calm down, Chris. I am telling you that he has been dealt with. As for what has been stolen, here is some simoleons to cover the cost."
"How am I supposed to sleep at night knowing that there is some kid stealing our things? And another thing, isn't it interesting that this happens right after we agreed to your half baked idea of us each giving you §100 a night so that you can rope off land to sell to us? I was the only one to play Devil's Advocate and prove that this was a ludicrous plan. Then Luke and Mike had to point out the fact that I am doing the best of everyone, so of course I wouldn't want to upset the status quo. I mean really? I only had §100 more. That isn't going to be that much of a difference if that is what we are giving every night!"
"Chris! Would you just calm down?!"
"NO I WILL NOT!"
"Chris. Chris!! There is no one out to get you just because you are §100 richer than everyone else."
"But..."
"AND there is nothing you can do, or should do, with the kid who stole from you."
"But..."
"NO BUTS!! Now Chris, go home."
"But..."
"GO HOME!!"
After that conversation, I didn't see or hear from Chris for the next couple of days. I didn't expect to since he needed to have some time to cool down. Ha! Kind of ironic that we also had a heat wave when all this happened.
Anyway, I have gathered a few plots of land, so I am going to open up a Real Estate on one of them and start selling them out to everyone. That will mean our little community is growing some more. Speaking of growing. Most of our boys have now all become teens. This means that they will be able to help us with running our businesses as well. This Summer has proved to be a good one regardless of the heating up that happened with a few heat strokes. Maybe that is what happened to Chris? Nah. I will see you next quarter.
