The Future Cube is a special object in The Sims 4. It can change the emotions of Sims when they ask it questions.
The cube usually gives Sims +2 positive moodlets, but there is a possibility of the cube failing on the Sims, giving them a +1 negative moodlet. However, the negative moodlet can be quickly replaced with a positive one by asking the cube more questions. Sims can keep it in their inventories and carry it anywhere. It is similar to the Orb of Answers item from The Sims 3: Supernatural.
The Future Cube can be bought from the "Activities and Skills" menu under "Recreation". The Future Cube can also be gained by winning contests in the Geekcon festival in The Sims 4: City Living. In The Sims 4: Seasons, it is one of the two possible gifts a Sim can receive from being on Father Winter's "naughty list" (the other being a lump of coal).
The Future Cube will occasionally have its list of predictions changed in patches to hint at upcoming content. For example, the prediction "Climbing to the top one rung at a time!" was added shortly before the addition of ladders in patch 95.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It was revealed in the October 18, 2019 Sims 4 Guru Garage Twitch stream that Sim Guru Trevor was the person who worked on this object. According to events recalled by Sim Guru Steve, not all of the text strings for the object made it into the game.
- The name Future Cube is likely an allusion to Red vs Blue, in partiular the episode Fire, in which the character Donut calls teleportation grenades "Future Cubes. The cubes of the future.".
