Lounges are a group of similar lot assignments introduced in The Sims 3: Late Night, The Sims 3: Supernatural, The Sims 3: Into the Future. In The Sims 4, lounge is a lot assignment that has no variations, but are otherwise similar to the game's bars and nightclubs.

The Sims 3[edit | edit source]

In The Sims 3, lounges are represented by martini glass map tags. These venues attract celebrities and serve drinks provided by the Mixology skill.[TS3:LN]

These are the highest class of juice-selling venue but also the most exclusive. Every pre-made lounge in Bridgeport has a bouncer, and the price of food and drink is notably expensive. Each type of lounge offers an exclusive preset selection of Mixology drinks.

Lounges in Bridgeport and Moonlight Falls open at 2 PM and close at 2 AM the next day while lounges in Oasis Landing open at 9 AM and close at 3 AM the next day, making them the first juice-selling venues to shut their doors at night. All lounges feature stages for bands to play on at gigs, and for NPC pianists to play the piano.

Banzai Lounge[edit | edit source]

Banzai Lounge

Banzai Lounge at 1684 Memorial Parkway
Type: Fusion Lounge

Human and vampire celebrities or anyone willing to pay a small bribe are allowed in the common area of the Japanese-themed Banzai Lounge, which features a dance area and tables for shuffleboard and foosball. Human Sims with at least 3-stars of celebrity status (or §100 to spare) are allowed into the VIP backroom, where the arcade and bubble bar are held. Curiously, this is the only lowest-class nightclub that only let in celebrities. It is also the most expensive nightclub to buy at §150,000.

Inside, the color green is prominently featured in lighting and furniture. There are various sculptures and decorations. The building features a parking lot besides it.

Plasma 501[edit | edit source]

Plasma 501

Plasma 501 at 2717 Mall Street
Type: Vampire Lounge
Celebrity Level: Celebrity level 1
Occult: Vampire

Plasma 501 is a dark lounge with disturbingly red decor. Normal Sims are welcome at this lounge just as vampires are, so long as they're at least a little noteworthy or can give the bouncer a moderate bribe. Along with a small dance area in front of the stage, the lounge features a chess set on the gallery, a telescope on the balcony, and the urn of an anonymous Sim in the main room. In the basement of the lounge is a crypt containing two altars, as well as a staircase leading to an alley behind the building where Lotta Greaves is buried. Vampire's Eye can be found on one side of the skyscraper.

The Prosper Room[edit | edit source]

The Prosper Room

The Prosper Room at 1549 Bayshore Highway
Type: Exclusive Lounge
Celebrity Level: Celebrity level 2Celebrity level 2

As can be expected from any exclusive lounge, The Prosper Room is the hardest venue to get into, requiring a hefty bribe just to enter the main room. The common room is open to Sims as lowly as 2 star celebrities, but only contains a small dance area for entertainment. 5 and even 4 star celebrities are allowed access to the exclusive second story, where they can enjoy a bubble bar, a hot tub, and a wall-mounted television. No amount of money will grant lesser Sims entry to this fabled place unless they own the venue. Decoration for this venue seems to be inspired by art-deco.

The lounge also has some amenities at the rooms connected to the main area, such as magical mirror, guitar, chess, phonograph, and Bonehilda's coffin.

Red Velvet Lounge doesn't support features from Late Night, and therefore it lacks features that are needed or as a substitution of The Plasma 501. For example, it doesn't have any barrier ropes that connect to any VIP rooms. The lounge doesn't have a professional bar and therefore, the basic bars will not assign any mixologists nor serve unique bar drinks. The lounge also lacks band area for Sims to perform a band gig.

The Sims 4[edit | edit source]

Lounges return in The Sims 4 and are represented by a microphone map tag. They are a perfect place to meet friends, have dates and to practice the mixology skill with the bar. Lounges also include instruments and microphones for Sims to play, sing and tell jokes.

If the player owns The Sims 4: Bowling Night Stuff and places a bowling lane in a lounge, other Sims will come to the lounge specifically to bowl, in addition to the other behavior on the lot. This also works for nightclubs and bars.
