The Sims 4

This game guide is for The Sims 4 only.

The Sims 4 introduced a replacement to Lifetime Wishes from The Sims 3, called Aspirations. They share some common elements, but unlike Lifetime Wishes, they focus on sub-aspirations and can be switched at anytime. Unlike The Sims 2's Aspirations, they don't influence your Sim's wants and fears, but instead occasionally give Whims related to the current aspiration selected.

Create-A-Sim[edit | edit source]

When creating your Sim, the aspiration you choose for your Sim will give them a "bonus trait." This bonus trait will help you along with the aspiration. For example, if your Sim gets the "Successful Lineage", aspiration (which is under Family), they will get the "Domestic" bonus trait, which will allow you to raise Friendly relationships with your family members faster. You can always switch aspirations when you are in the Live Mode. You can do this through the Aspiration panel. The bonus trait, however, will not change. On that note: you will not lose progress from the previous aspiration. Below is a list of all the Bonus Traits that can be received.

Aspiration Type Name Bonus
Athletic (Bodybuilder) High Metabolism It will be easier to gain muscle mass and lose fat with this Trait.
Creativity (Painter Extraordinaire, Bestselling Author, Musical Genius) Muser While Inspired, Artistic Skills like Piano, Painting, Writing, etc. are getting a larger boost.
Deviance (Public Enemy, Chief of Mischief) Dastardly Strength will begin at a higher level and Fights will be won more easily. Mean Interactions will be more successful.
Family (Successful Lineage, Big Happy Family) Domestic Friendly Relationships with family members, like Children, Grandchildren and Spouse, will raise faster.
Food (Master Chef, Master Mixologist) Essence of Flavor Food cooked and Drinks mixed will be of a higher quality.
Fortune (Fabulously Weathy, Mansion Baron) Business Savvy Wages from Careers will be raised.
Knowledge (Renaissance Sim, Computer Whiz, Nerd Brain) Quick Learner Skills will be learned at a faster rate.
Love (Serial Romantic, Soulmate) Alluring Romantic Interactions will be more successful, and Romantic Relationships will raise faster.
Nature (Freelance Botanist, Angling Ace, The Curator, Outdoor Enthusiast[TS4:OR]) Collector The chance to get Uncommon and Rare collectibles will be raised.
Popularity (Joke Star, Friend of the World, Party Animal) Gregarious Friendly Relationships will build faster and take longer to decay.
