This section describes features that are only available in The Sims 2.

This tutorial will allow your household to rent a nanny without paying any additional fee (§ per hour). May or may not work as well in The Sims 3.

You'll need:[edit | edit source]

  • A child/toddler/baby (obviously, or else she will not come)
  • And a nursery built in a room or through multiple room that are accessible only through the 'Very Mysterious Shelving' Bookshelf.

Optional:

  • Snapdragon bouquet: helps to reduce the motive decline of the nanny when she's overworked.

Tutorial[edit | edit source]

Step 1: Hire the nanny (preferably "For now", although you can still either assign her to "track schedule" instead but you'll have to do the certain step quickly before she manages to leave).

Step 2: Enable moveobjects on cheat and move her to the 'secret' nursery room.

Step 3: Provide the amenities for her (nutrition, lounging area, a personal bathroom, and recreational stuff (Disclaimer: don't put those things that are prone to entice a habit of addiction)).

Step 4: Fire or dismiss her for the day (Preferably choose the formal option, so that nanny agencies won't unnecessary send other one due to formal nanny being absent from work), either before or after transporting her to the enclosed room.

Step 5: You have now successfully rented a nanny! If you get tired of her, you can set her free by doing the Step #2 in reverse

DISCLAIMER: Your nanny may unexpectedly die. Follow the steps carefully to ensure the npc doesn't fatally perish. The author isn't responsible for any damage or harm done to the "rented" babysitter when not following instruction safely.
