Walkthrough for The Sims 2 (console).

The player progresses through the game by fulfilling the characters' wants at each location. Fulfilling their platinum want unlocks a new site.

Rockwell Acres

Rockwell Acres is a tutorial and introduces the player to wants and how to fulfill them. By fulfilling all of the player's Gold and Platinum wants Shoreline Trails will be unlocked.

Player's Wants

	Use 'Talk' Social on a Sim	Talking is a great way to learn another Sim's interests.	+50	Socialize with either Felicity or Ossie and use the 'Talk' interaction.
	Take out Trash	How could any Sim live in this filth? A clean space makes all the Sims happier	+50	Pick up one of the trash piles in the living room and throw it out.
	Buy a Single Bed Worth at Least §50	A Sim needs somewhere to sleep!	+100	Purchase any bed in the Buy Catalog under the Seating & Beds tab. Unlocks Shoreline Trails
	Visit a Different Location	A big Sim in a small pond needs to explore the world sometimes.	+100	Use the Call Box in front of the house to call a taxi.

By fulfilling all of the player's Gold and Platinum wants the Cliffside Retreat will be unlocked.

	Go to Work in (Chosen Career)	The best way to make simoleons is to go to work in a good mood.	+70	Go to Career, Skills, & Personality section in the pause menu to check the work hours. The carpool will arrive 75 minutes before work.
	Gain a Skill Point	To gain promotions and be successful, Sims need high skills.	+100	Use the Amishim Bookcase, Post-Staunton "Strugatsky" Chess Set, or Exerto Self-Spot Exercise Machine to learn a new skill or purchase a new skill object in the Buy Catalog.
	Buy an Object	Sims have needs that only Simoleons can fulfill.	+100	Purchase any object in the Buy Catalog.
	Become Enemies With Torin	Torin is a mean and nasty Sim.	+300	Run over to Torin Namaste and socialize with him. Bring relationship points down to -11 or lower.
	Reach Body Skill Level 3	Higher skills can allow Sims to use objects in new and exciting ways.	+140	Locate the Exerto Self-Spot Exercise Machine at the back of the house and select 'Light Weightlifting'.
	Perform Surf Trick	That surfing simulator looks cool.	+120	Next to the Exerto Self-Spot Exercise Machine is a Wurl N' Hurl Gnarlosurf 2000, hop on the simulator by selecting 'Surf'. A low Energy need will decrease the chances of successfully performing a trick.
	Change Clothes	These threads are getting stale. Look for a wardrobe.	+200	Find a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms and select 'Change Clothes'. Hint: You don't have to change clothes. Enter and exit the Fashion menu is all that's needed.
	Become Friends with Timmy	Torin may always be mean to him but Timmy is actually a nice guy.	+300	Run over to Timmy Tool and socialize with him. Bring relationship points up to a 40 or higher.
	Reach Career Level 2 in any Career	More skill, more Simoleons, more excitement.	+200	Check skill and friend requirements in the Career menu to make sure everything is set for a promotion.
	Beat Torin at Foosball.	If you teach him a lesson, he will give you directions to the Cliffside Retreat.	+600	Purchase a Tournament Foosball Table from the Buy Catalog under the Miscellaneous tab. Select 'Practice Foosball' then call over Torin to challenge him. Torin has 2 Body skill points, so if the challenger also has 2 points then the chances are 50/50. The possibility of winning increases by 5% depending on the Sims Body skill. Get more Body skill to increase the odds. Unlocks Cliffside Retreat

Cliffside Retreat

By fulfilling all of Isabella Monty's and the player's Gold and Platinum wants the HMS Amore will be unlocked.

	Reach Level 3 in any Career	Higher promotions mean more simoleons and cool new uniforms.	+200	Check skill and friend requirements in the Career menu to make sure everything is set for a promotion.
	Buy a Fire Extinguisher	Kitchens can be fire prone, especially when inexperienced chefs are involved.	+100	Purchase the Snuffit Fire Destroyer in the Buy Catalog under the Appliances tab. 1,300 aspiration points is needed to unlock this object.
	Build Walls	And not just walls, fences too. Let's start redecorating!	+100	Build any number of walls in the Build Catalog.
	Reach Level 4 in any Career	There are new uniforms and new vehicles as rewards for hardworking Sims.	+200	Check skill and friend requirements in the Career menu to make sure everything is set for a promotion.
	Help Isabella	Fulfill her dream of redesigning Cliffside Retreat and making delicious meals. Switch to her and complete her gold wants!	+500	Switch control over Isabella and complete all of her Gold wants. Unlocks HMS Amore

Isabella Monty's Wants

	Gain a Cooking Point	Sims learn new recipes with every Cooking skill point.	+100	Use the bookshelf to study in one of the bedrooms or cook several meals to gain a Cooking skill point. Isabella already has 7 points so it may take some time.
	Harvest Squid	Sea food is hot amongst the Sim community right now. Remember to keep the aquarium clean.	+90	Locate the aquarium in the living room and select 'Harvest Seafood'.
	Make a Sandwich	Nothing like freshly baked bread, better use some dough. Check your recipe book for details!	+120	Head to the fridge and select 'Get Ingredients'. From this menu the recipe book can be selected. Open it to view the sandwich recipe.
	Become Friends with Patrizio	It's time for Isabella to make peace with the bed and breakfast's financier, Patrizio.	+300	Run over to Patrizio Monty and socialize with him. Bring relationship points up to a 40 or higher.
	Buy Ingredient Source	Isabella wants to continue their culinary experiments!	+100	Purchase either the "Frood" Tree, "Manila 1000" Marine Aquarium, or the GenoLife Garden Hutch in the Buy Catalog under the Miscellaneous tab.
	Create a Group Meal	Cooking can be a rewarding activity, especially when a Sim makes enough for everyone.	+200	Head to the fridge and select 'Get Group Meal Ingredients'. Make any recipe or something creative.
	Give Food to Patrizio	Sims will accept food based on their relationship and personal tastes.	+100	Grab a serving of the group meal that was just made and give it to Patrizio.

HMS Amore

By fulfilling Betty Buttercup's and the player's Gold and Platinum wants, Sunset Canyon will be unlocked. Hector Fromagero also resides here, by fulfilling his Gold wants the bonus location Mesa Gallery will be unlocked.

	Change Clothes	This outfit doesn't really work on a yacht.	+200	This place doesn't own a wardrobe. Purchase any wardrobe in the Buy Catalog under the Miscellaneous tab. Then, select 'Change Clothes'. Hint: You don't have to change clothes. Enter and exit the Create-A-Sim is all that's needed.
	Buy something worth more than §300	A generous gift might warm the hearts of the other residents of HMS Amore.	+150	Purchase any object in the Buy Catalog worth at least §300.
	Buy a Blender	A blender can help Sims make more elaborate meals.	+100	Purchase either the LiquiTonic or Multiquick Blender in the Buy Catalog under the Appliances tab.
	Reach Level 6 in any Career	Higher promotions mean more simoleons and more simoleons means more chances to spend.	+500	Check skill and friend requirements in the Career menu to make sure everything is set for a promotion.
	Help Betty marry Nelson Longfellow	She might be able to give directions to an old abandoned movie lot... just fulfill all her gold wants!	+500	Switch over to Betty and complete all of her Gold wants. Unlocks Sunset Canyon

	Become Friends with Nelson	Every romance must start somewhere.	+300	Run over to Nelson Longfellow and socialize with them. Bring relationship points up to a 40 or higher.
	Gain a Skill point in Body	Certain objects will increase a Sim's skills. Don't get frustrated, learning takes time.	+100	This place doesn't own an object that increases the Body skill. Purchase an Exerto Self-Spot Exercise Machine in the Buy Catalog under the Skill tab.
	Make meal with Aphrodesiac effect	The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Try carrot, lime and passionfruit for ingredients!	+500	If a passionfruit wasn't collected from the Cliffside Retreat garden, then a simple recipe using carrot, lime and sourdough can be used to make some bread, a casserole or a jam & veggie sandwich.
	Give food to Nelson	Sims will accept food based on their relationship and personal tastes.	+100	Head over to Nelson and give him the Aphrodisiac meal that was just prepared.
	Gain Charisma point	Nothing like a little Charisma to improve the odds.	+100	Use the mirror that was bought earlier to gain another Charisma skill point.
	Buy a Painting	Surely that would help set the mood.	+100	Purchase any painting in the Buy Catalog under the Decorative tab.
	Use 'Make Out' Social on Nelson	It's time to make a move!	+120	Run over to Nelson and socialize with him once again. Bring relationship points up to 75 or higher using romantic interactions to become lovers, then use the 'Make Out' interaction.
	Marry Nelson	To marry another Sim just propose to them!	+300	Socialize with Nelson and 'Propose' to him.

Hector Fromagero's Wants

	Play Spin the Bottle	It may sound a little juvenile but so is Hector. He must play and he must play now!	+180	Purchase the Spin the Bottle in the Buy Catalog under the Miscellaneous tab. 9,200 aspiration points is needed to unlock this object. Once purchased, select 'Play'.
	Woohoo with a Sim	All passions must reach a crescendo! Hector wants to head for the bedroom.	+200	Head over to one of the Vibromatic Heart Beds in the back bedrooms and have Hector relax in it. Use 'Call Over..." to invite the Sim Hector had just used 'Make Out' with earlier. Then, select 'WooHoo'.
	Use 'Make Out' Social on 3 Sims	Why settle for one Sim when there are so many on the boat?	+200	Socialize with anyone Hector hasn't been romantic with yet. Bring relationship points up to 75 or higher using romantic interactions to become lovers, then use the 'Make Out' interaction. Repeat this a third time.
	Get two Sims in a Hot Tub	Sims love hot tubs. Get a couple in one and see what happens.	+150	Head to one of the Love Tubs on the front deck. Relax in it then use 'Ask To Join...' to invite a Sim over.
	WooHoo with 3 Sims!	Hector cannot be tied down!	+400	Head over to one of the Vibromatic Heart Beds in the back bedrooms once again and have Hector relax in it. Use 'Call Over..." to invite a Sim that Hector has not already done WooHoo with. Repeat this with a third Sim.

Sunset Canyon

By fulfilling Red S. Hirt's and the player's Gold and Platinum wants, Tranquility Falls will be unlocked. Billy Specter also resides here, by fulfilling his Gold wants the bonus location The Orbit Room will be unlocked.

Player's Wants

	Buy a Metal Detector	This is the perfect place for some prospecting.	+100	Purchase the Metal Detector in the Buy Catalog under the Electronics tab. 12,000 aspiration points is needed to unlock this object.
	Find Treasure with Metal Detector	There must be something valuable buried around here somewhere.	+300	Go up to the Metal Detector that was just purchased and select 'Grab Detector'. Walk around with it and pay attention to the colored ring. Blue means nothing is there, but white means something is found. Select 'More...' and choose 'Dig' once there's white and hear the buzz becoming more frequent.
	Wear a Costume	To blend in with the locals in some locations a Sim needs to dress up a little. Buy a costume trunk and get in character!	+200	Head over to the front building and use the Pathologie Costume Trunk to wear a costume.
	Serve a Meal to Red S.	Maybe a decent meal would cheer him up?	+100	This place doesn't own a fridge, or a source of food, or anything much at all... Purchase any fridge in the Buy Catalog under the Appliances tab. Then, grab some ingredients. This can be given to Red S. either cooked or raw, but he may reject it.
	Reach Level 7 in any Career	This is no time to forget about your job.	+600	Check skill and friend requirements in the Career menu to make sure everything is set for a promotion.
	Help Red S.	He wants to ressurect his long lost silver screen idol. Helping him could lead you to Tranquility Falls.	+500	Switch over to Red S and complete all of his Gold wants. Unlocks Tranquility Falls

Red S. Hirt's Wants

	Gain a Creativity Point	His movie career may have faltered, but Red S. still wants to be creative.	+100	Head over to the Chimeway & Daughters Piano in one of the buildings and select 'Play Classical' or 'Play Experimental' to gain a Creativity skill point.
	Play the Guitar	Perhaps the life of a muscian would suit Red S.?	+200	This place doesn't own a guitar. Purchase the "Does it Rock!" Electric Guitar in the Buy Catalog under the Skill tab. Then, select 'Play'.
	Paint a Picture	Clearly music isn't working yet, so try art...	+150	This place doesn't own an easel. Purchase the Independent Expressions, Inc. Easel in the Buy Catalog under the Skill tab. Then, select 'Paint'.
	Resurrect Helga	She's been dead for years, but this former matinee idol still holds sway over Red S.	+300	Switch to Helga Mandrake and resurrect her by paying §100 to the Grim Reaper or defeating him at a fiddle challenge.
	Be loved by Helga	A lifetime of worshipping his celluloid idol is too little!	+400	Run over to Helga and socialize with her. Bring the relationship up to at least 75 points by doing romantic interactions to become lovers.
	Kiss Helga	Now that she's alive again she's really quite attractive...	+120	Socialize with Helga and select 'Make Out' with her. If the relationship status was lowered to crush, then choose 'Smooch'.
	Cuddle in Bed with Helga	Sometimes just snuggling is the best.	+200	This place doesn't own a bed. Purchase any double bed in the Buy Catalog under the Seating & Beds tab. Then, select 'Relax' in it and choose 'Call Over...' to get Helga to join, then 'Cuddle'.

Billy Specter's Wants

	Become Enemies with Helga	Billy has enough friends already.	+300	Run over to Helga and socialize with her. Bring relationship points down to -11 or lower.
	Become an Arch Enemy with Helga	Sometimes Sims just can't get along.	+350	Socialize with Helga once again and bring relationship points down to -31 or lower.
	Throw a Party	What better reason is there to party than being newly resurrected?	+150	Head over to the phone and select 'Throw Party', but make sure it's not too late in the night.

Tranquility Falls

By fulfilling Chantal Leer's and the player's Gold and Platinum wants the Alien Crash Site will be unlocked. Larry Liu also resides here, by fulfilling his Gold wants the bonus location Jugen House will be unlocked.

	Gain a Skill point in Mechanical	Certain objects will increase a Sim's skills. Don't get frustrated, learning takes time.	+100	This place doesn't own an object that increases the Mechanical skill. Purchase any bookcase or the 'Jimmy Three Fingers' Rocket Bench in the Buy Catalog under the Skill tab. Then, select 'Study Mechanical' or 'Make Rocket'.
	Builds Walls	This place needs more space!	+100	Build any number of walls in the Build Catalog.
	Buy a Genie Lamp	Make a wish but keep an eye on your aspiration meter.	+100	Purchase the Defective Arcade Genie Lamp in the Buy Catalog under the Miscellaneous tab. 5,300 aspiration points is needed to unlock this object.
	Buy something worth more than §300	Remodelling walls and floors isn't enough. New objects are required.	+150	Purchase any object in the Buy Catalog worth at least §300.
	Reach Level 8 in any Career	At higher job levels Sims really begin to rake in the cash.	+700	Check skill and friend requirements in the Career menu to make sure everything is set for a promotion.
	Buy something worth over §1,000	Sims can also sell objects for extra cash and redesign entire rooms or locations.	+150	Purchase any object in the Buy Catalog worth at least §1,000.

	Add a Room	A new room for Tranquility would realign its feng shui. Choose carefully...	+750	Go to the Build Catalog and build a room of any size.
	Buy an Object	An empty room is like an empty heart.	+100	Purchase any object in the Buy Catalog.
	Buy 4 Lights	A Sim can't live in darkness!	+500	Purchase any four lights in the Buy Catalog under the Lighting tab.
	Master Creativity skill	An artist always needs to stay sharp.	+800	Chantal wants to go for it and master her Creativity skill. She's not too far off at level 7. Use the Bonsai Tree and 'Prune' it or purchase better skill objects such as the "Does it Rock!" Electric Guitar, Chimeway & Daughters Piano, or an easel.
	Buy something worth more than §500	You always get what you pay for. A better object satisfies needs more efficiently.	+150	Purchase any object in the Buy Catalog worth at least §500.
	Get Art Career	It's time for a change in life! A new career equals a fresh start.	+50	Use the newspaper or a computer and choose 'Find A Job'. Keep looking until Art is available.

Larry Liu's Wants

	Fill Fun need	No fun makes Larry a dull boy.	+50	Locate the MaxArts 5p0r3 Gaming Kit in the back room to fill up Larry's fun.
	Make Nausea meal	Making Sims sick is hilarious!	+500	This place doesn't own a fridge, or much of a kitchen at all. Purchase any fridge and a counter in the Buy Catalog under the Appliances and Surfaces tab. Then, grab the eel and squid that was harvested back at Cliffside Retreat and prepare some carpaccio on the counter.
	Give Food to Candi	Which sort of meal will get the funniest results?	+100	Find Candi and select 'Give Food To...' and hand over that special dish that was just made.

Alien Crash Site

By fulfilling XY-XY Smith's and the player's Gold and Platinum wants the Bio Dome will be unlocked. XHT-F Smith also resides here, by fulfilling her Gold wants the bonus location Andromeda Arms will be unlocked.

	Sell a Great Painting	Noel is a multi-faceted individual.	+300	To produce a great painting a Sim must have 9 Creativity skill points, but Noel only has 6. Purchase any creativity skill building object under the Skill tab in the Buy Catalog or locate the bookcase and select 'Write in Journal' to increase his skill. Once he has 9 Creativity points paint a new picture and sell it. Alternatively, drink a Skill boost meal to gain +3 to Noel's 6 Creativity points then immediately go paint a picture.
	Master Politics Career	Gain the final promotion and then retire in style.	+2000	Noel wants to be the boss and master his career. He's only a few promotions away since he's already a Judge level 8. He'll need a few friends and skills. Help him move up in his Politics career.

Jessica Jones' Wants

	Get Four Sims Dancing	Play the right music and all Sims will dance.	+300	Head over to the DJ Booth or the "Procedural" Music System in the living room and select 'Play Music', then 'Dance'. Switch to other Sims and have them join.
	Use Fireworks on DJ Booth	Sims love a good light show.	+100	Go to the DJ Booth and select 'DJ', then choose 'Fireworks'.

Mesa Gallery

Mesa Gallery is unlocked by doing Hector Fromagero's Gold wants at HMS Amore. Jasmine Yves has Gold wants here, but fulfilling them doesn't unlock anything. Although, it does count towards the achievement for 'Sims Helped' to 100% complete the game. Jasmine will sometimes have an extra Gold want appear after her first few wants are completed. The want was likely supposed to appear next in line, but takes up the fourth slot instead. Completing this secondary Gold want is not required for the 'Sims Helped' achievement.
