Gym
A gym is a type of lot in The Sims 2 and a lot assignment in The Sims 3 and The Sims 4.
The Sims 2[edit | edit source]
All pre-made college sub-neighborhoods in The Sims 2: University have gyms, although those lots also have other uses. Downtown and Bluewater Village each have a lot which has a gym area, but those lots are primarily devoted to other uses. In FreeTime, Sims who have enough enthusiasm in Fitness are granted access to the Platinum Gym secret hobby lot, which offers a gym.
Gyms can be used to build fitness, but as community lots in The Sims 2 do not allow for skills to be developed, they cannot be used to build the body skill, with the notable exception of the Platinum Gym lot in FreeTime.
The Sims 3[edit | edit source]

- Sims with either the athletic or daredevil traits, or work in the athletic career.
- Deters
- Sims with the couch potato trait.
Gyms contain exercise equipment, such as treadmills and weight machines, as well as stereos and swimming pools. Gyms encourage Sims to build their athletic skill.
As a lot assignment, gyms provide the Fit Atmosphere moodlet.

The 28 Hour Wellness Gym is the default gym for Sunset Valley. It has two weight machines and two treadmills upon which Sims can work out. It also has showers, a small dining area, a small deck, and large swimming pool. It is also the Nintendo DS version of the gym.
