Harwood Clay is a pre-made elder Sim who lives alone in Twinbrook. He is an accomplished artist who has the Savvy Sculptor and Artistic traits, along with many skills: he is at Level 2 in charisma, Level 7 in sculpting, Level 5 in guitar, and Level 3 in painting. Despite his bio implying he had his whole career as a sculptor, Harwood starts out the game as retired from the music career.

He is best friends forever with Juan Darer. He is also acquainted with his neighbors, Marc Brandt, Buddy Bailey, Molly Coddle, and the Drudges. His name, Harwood, may be meant to suggest "hardwood" since he is a sculptor and both wood and clay are sculpting media. He is also one of the few male Sims that wear makeup.

There is a woman buried outside the Laundromat who shares his surname: Macy Clay. She died in a fire and it is unknown if they are related.
