Hugh Thanasia ( /hju θəˈneɪʒə/) is the brother of Lou Thanasia and is one of Olive Specter's many husbands. He died an early death, and, as with Olive's other husbands (including her ex-lover Earl E. DeMise, who left Olive at the altar), it is suggested that perhaps, Olive murdered him. This theory has not been proved, yet it is a strong possibility. His name is a pun on euthanasia. He died in a fire.

Although it is not explicitly stated whether Hugh or Lou was the elder brother, the game files state that Hugh was the elder of the two. Their NIDs indicate that Hugh was created first and Lou was 29 days from being an elder, while Hugh was 26 days from being an elder. Hugh uses the 4th face template in Create a Sim, but the eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth are customized.

He reappeared in Midnight Hollow, also as a ghost. Like his The Sims 2 counterpart, he also died in a fire. His skin is much paler and his eyes are white instead of blue in The Sims 3, however it's just to match the pattern of other deceased Sims in the world. Hugh is buried in the cemetery on Olive's lot in both Strangetown and Midnight Hollow.

Resurrection tip
