Biography
A man of science, James does not agree with the supernatural. All this magic and mystical nonsense – it's just not healthy! He once tried to cast a magic spell as a child and his mother gave him a stern talking to and sent him right to law school. It was the best thing that ever happened to James and he was only 8! Even though he gave up law after passing the Bar at age 12, James was always grateful for the discipline and structure that his school provided. Now he just hopes to bring that structure into everyone's lives.

James Hoppcraft is a pre-made playable Sim who resides in Moonlight Falls, the world introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural. He lives with his wife Miriam Hoppcraft and their son, Alfred. James is a Top Secret Researcher at level 8 in the Science career, and has 7 skill points in logic, 3 in fishing, 5 in handiness, and 6 in gardening. When Moonlight Falls is first played, he is 17 days away from becoming an elder.

Both James and his wife strongly dislike the supernatural, being a traditional family. They love their son and are sure everyone in town envies them for having such a nice child. Still, they do not know that Alfred was turned into a fairy by the elderly Flora Goodfellow, and this might lead Miriam and James to severe problems in dealing with their son's supernatural status.

It is slightly implied that his dislike for magic hails from his childhood, as he was severely reprimanded by his mother when he tried to cast a spell. He also began to study the Law at age 8, but stopped when he was 12. It appears that James' last name "Hoppcraft" is a reference to the horror and science fiction writer, H. P. Lovecraft, famous for his Cthulhu Mythos.

Even though James has black hair, he has grey highlights and brown roots, implying that his hair was dyed. Oddly enough, if the player changes his appearance in the mirror and gives him facial hair, it is revealed that the roots, highlights, and tips of his facial hair is golden blond, while the base of his facial hair is pale green. James' body hair is also blond which further adds to the inconsistencies between his head hair, facial hair, and body hair colors.

He is Best Friends with Jack Skipper, Good Friends with Chester Swain and Pip Goodfellow(despite being anti-supernatural), Daydream Ivy, Linda Rodgers, Nicholas Wickerman, Patty Younan, Friends with Sophie Rodgers(despite being anti-supernatural), Rainflower Ivy, Bailey Swain, Peanut Ivy, his own son, Annalove Ivy, Becky Younan, Crissy Rain, Suraya Younan, Bryce Younan, and his wife. He is also Distant Friends with Dennis Younan.
