Joy Tan is one of the pre-made NPC maids who resides in Desiderata Valley, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: FreeTime. The other two maids are Ashlee Couderc and Adrian Young. She can be made playable by befriending and asking her to move in, or by marrying her. Joy has the same facial structure as Carmen Patch from Pleasantview, and Emmy Zaidi.

Like all female maids, Joy's default outfit is the typical "French Maid" outfit with a white apron. She has long blonde hair with a small tiara, grey eyes, and medium skin. Joy's Aspiration is Family, and her zodiac sign is Cancer. As far as personality, she is extremely nice. But Joy is quite serious, and somewhat sloppy, shy, and lazy.

When it comes to her skill points, she has maximized the mechanical and cleaning skills, and is close to maximizing the logic skill. Joy is mostly interested in Politics and Sports. Despite being a maid, her head-shot reveals that she doesn't wear the stereotypical maid outfit before she is first spawned in-game.
