The Kahananui family is a pre-made family residing in Sulani, the world introduced in The Sims 4: Island Living. It consists of the middle-aged couple Mele and Alika Kahananui. They live on a lot called "Journey's End" on Lani St. Taz and start off with 30,000 Simoleons.

Onomatology

Kahananui: Means "the great work" or "the hard job". It is made up of the Hawaiian words ka (meaning "the"), hana (meaning "work") and nui (meaning "big").
Mele: Hawaiian chants, songs or poems. Can also mean "to chant" or "to sing".
Alika: "Truthful" or "most beautiful" in Hawaiian and Swahili.
