This is a list of songs from the PC version of The Sims 2 and its expansion and stuff packs. This list is separated into songs that are played in the neighborhood view, buy and build modes, Create a Sim, and on loading screens, as well as the Simlish songs that are played on the different radio stations on stereos and community lot wall speakers. Each expansion pack and some stuff packs include songs.

It is possible to create custom radio stations with The Sims 2: FreeTime. These custom stations can contain any song in-game—including build, buy, and CAS songs—and can be played on any stereo.

Radio station music

The Sims 2 features 20 different radio stations, as well as an additional Holiday-themed station that is only available to listen to on a specific stereo. 6 stations are available with the base game, with others being introduced through expansion packs. Each expansion and stuff pack also added new songs to the existing stations as well.

This list contains all songs that aren't played via the stereo nor in-game. Instead, they're heard through the TV channels, they're heard in trailers or they're hidden in the sound effect files. This list doesn't count short songs that are played from music instruments or the DJ booth, though it does count songs that were cut from the game.

In the sound effect files, there are two unknown instrumental songs. One is 06:23 in duration and the other one is 02:20.

Trivia

• Ghosts is also featured in The Sims 3 (albeit with English lyrics) as part of the default songs in the Custom Music radio station.
• The Shopping and New Age radio songs are from The Sims.
• The Sims 2 University theme is titled The Sims Theme in the soundtrack album. It's also the main theme of The Sims 2: Pets (console), and it inspired The Sims 3 theme. The other expansion pack neighborhood themes are remixes of this theme, with the exception of Bon Voyage, which uses a remix of the original The Sims 2 theme.
• Chocolate is the theme song of The Sims Stories.
• Turgid Apocalypse first appeared in The Sims Bustin' Out (console) as Fredashay.
• DJ Funktronic is a new version of Sphere from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.
• When Love Walks Away is a new vocal version of Wanlong Mellow from SSX Blur.
• Jerry Martin composed at least two unused songs for the game before Mark Mothersbaugh was hired: Upper Crust and Blind Optimism.
• In the Danish, Swedish and Finnish versions of The Sims 2, the College Rock station is called Pop Rock instead.
• It's possible that "Sim Bop" could have been "Eeyooma Mana Muki Vop" from The Sims Bustin' Out.
