When the family is first played, Marissa is 9 days from being an elder. She is voiced by Zoe Galvez.

She is seen to players as a strict, over-nurturing mother who is constantly interfering in her son's life. Despite this, he considers her one of his best friends. If FreeTime is installed, Marissa will have 3 points of enthusiasm for Film and Literature. Carlos Contender considers Marissa a friend. However, when looking at Marissa's relationships, she doesn't even know Carlos. There are similar relationship mistakes throughout Belladonna Cove.

It is known that Marissa's parents had Geoff very late in their lives, since she was a teen when he was born. Strangely, both her parent's memories indicate that Geoff was born before Marissa, while Marissa has the memory of Geoff's birth, which clearly implies that she is supposed to be the older sibling. This is further supported, as Marissa is much older than Geoff in-game, and Geoff having the memory of learning to walk from Marissa, though Marissa does not have it.
