Fintan still holds bitterness in his heart over the Mithrilen family being unseated as leaders in town. He still can't believe how quickly everyone took to the foreign O'Connell family and he believes that they should have stayed on guard rather than letting little dragons into their lives. He will protect his town no matter what, but will his anger and obsession hurt his family in the long run?

The Mithrilen family are a family of Sims living in the world of Dragon Valley. Initially, the family consists of Fintan Mithrilen, his wife Aine, and their child aged son Riordan. Members of the family are distinguished by their blue skin, hair, and pointed ears, but otherwise are not considered supernatural, as they are human. Users who choose to play the Mithrilen family will soon note that Aine Mithrilen is pregnant.

The Mithrilen are notable for their confrontation with the O'Connell family, as the Mithrilens believe themselves to be the rightful founders and rulers of Dragon Valley. This rivalry is similar to other Sim family rivalries, such as the Capp family/Monty family or Van Gould family/Wolff family (Moonlight Falls) or Landgraab family/Alto family.

The Mithrilen live in 1 Mithrilen Manor, a stone house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, noted for it's stone architecture and vast empty basement. The house is decorated in shades of blue, which appears to be a favorite color of the family.

Fintan Mithrilen begins the game with a level 7 career in the Military, though his lifetime wish is to become Leader of the Free World. His wife, Aine, is a doctor wishing to become a World Renowned Surgeon. Fintan's traits are Brave, No Sense of Humor, Perfectionist, Grumpy, and Mean-Spirited. Aine's traits are Over-Emotional, Family-Oriented, Good, Neat, and Light Sleeper.

The abandoned warehouse in the town is called Mithrilen's Madmen Hideaway, and it says that "There are some passionate folks in town that agree that the Mithrilen family should be in charge again. And they'll do what they can to make that happen. By any means necessary." This is clearly linked to the current Mithrilen family, and Fintan's aim to lead the town.

Their name comes from "mithril", a fictitious metal found in J.R.R. Tolkien's novels.
