The Rip Co. Little Baker Oven is a skill toy in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 that only children can use. It is made by Rip Co., a toy manufacturing company.

In both games, it allows children to build Cooking skill by baking items that cannot be prepared with normal stoves, and children can burn food they attempt to cook in it.

The Sims 2[edit | edit source]

Your favorite little baker will love the toy oven from Rip Co. Goodies come out hot and tasty every time. Comes with a variety of plastic bakeware in sizes from cupcake to mega muffin.

In The Sims 2, the Little Baker Oven produces a muffin. The muffin can be burned, and as with a normal stove, children with low cooking skill are more likely to burn it. It may be advisable to let a child gain one or two Cooking points from a bookshelf or television before getting them a Little Baker Oven. The Little Baker Oven is a Fun object as well as a source of food, and children may bake autonomously.

The Little Baker Oven will not have a "Make..." option, but otherwise works much like a normal stove. A child using it may be distracted and walk away while the muffin is baking, or may simply forget to remove the muffin. In either case, the player will be able to direct the child to get it by clicking on the oven and selecting Get Food. As with food prepared with full-size appliances, if the "Eat" interaction is canceled, the player will be able to direct other Sims to eat the muffin. Also, if The Sims 2: Seasons or later is installed, the muffin can be stored as a leftover.

Like other skill toys in The Sims 2, there is no limit to how much skill a Sim can gain by using the Little Baker Oven. If The Sims 2: FreeTime is installed, using the Little Baker Oven builds enthusiasm for the Cuisine hobby.

If The Sims 2: Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff is installed, the oven will have 4 different recolors, in the standard K&B colors for appliances. Due to a mesh-naming conflict with the base game, custom recolors may not work unless the appropriate "Extra" from the Color Enable Package is installed.

If a child grows up while an uncooked muffin is in the oven, the uncooked muffin will remain in the oven indefinitely, as teenagers cannot use the toy oven. If this happens, it will not be possible to delete the oven except by using the moveobjects cheat.

The Sims 3[edit | edit source]

In The Sims 3, the Little Baker Oven will not raise a child's cooking skill higher than three points, and those points will not be visible until the Sim starts skilling in cooking as a teen or older. The toy oven can produce three unique recipes; a muffin, a pie and a cake. The muffin is the basic recipe and children become able to make pie and cake as their skill increases.

Ambitions adds the ability to make blueberry and vanilla muffins, chocolate and sugar cookies, caramel and chocolate brownies, and cupcakes.

Sims with the childish trait cannot use this toy.
