The satellite dish is an object in The Sims: Superstar and The Sims 4: Get to Work.

Purchasing a satellite dish and placing it anywhere on the lot will unlock four new channels on all TVs on the lot. These channels will be lost if the satellite dish is removed. If the satellite dish is removed while a TV is tuned in to one of the four new channels, the TV will continue to be tuned in to that channel indefinitely—even if it is later turned off—until a Sim changes the channel.

Satellite dishes can be built with the Invention Constructor at level 4 of the Scientist career (specifically, at the 7th breakthrough), and cannot be purchased without the use of cheats. It requires three common metals and three common crystals to be constructed.
Every 24 hours, the satellite dish can be used to contact aliens or prevent abductions. The satellite dish can also be upgraded to detect local aliens.
If a lot has an upgraded satellite dish, all televisions on the lot will get an extra "Alien" channel called "!#*%&$@%".
Players can use the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat to make the satellite dish available in buy mode.
