Simon Crumplebottom is a Sim featured in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. He is the deceased father of Cornelia Goth, and Agnes Crumplebottom, and the husband of Prudence Crumplebottom. He is also the maternal grandfather of the famous Mortimer Goth via Cornelia, and the great-grandfather of Cassandra and Alexander Goth. He and his wife never appeared alive in The Sims series.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Life leading up to The Sims 3[edit | edit source]

In The Sims 3, Simon is already deceased and his tombstone can be seen in the Goth family graveyard. He is buried with his wife, Prudence, along with his son-in-law's parents and an unknown relative (Lolita Goth).

Like the other dead Sims buried on the lot, his ghost haunts the Goth Manor. If asked if he is single, the response is he is not and that his partner was Prudence Crumplebottom. While his personality in The Sims 2 indicates that he is sloppy, he has the neat trait. Oddly, despite being dead in both games, Simon's appearance has changed slightly, his face is chubbier, he wears a different suit with a red tie instead of blue and his hair is somewhat longer and styled differently.

If Simon is resurrected and aged down to an adult, it will be discovered that he had red hair with brown roots before it turned grey. This contradicts his genetic information in The Sims 2 where his hair was black before it turned grey. It's possible that he dyed his hair red prior to becoming an elder. All other ghosts buried at the Goth Manor share this quirk.

Resurrection tip
This Sim can be brought back to life with ambrosia or with the Oh My Ghost! opportunity. For more information, read Game guide:Bringing Sims back to life.

Life leading up to The Sims[edit | edit source]

In The Sims, Simon is now long dead. Presumably, he is either buried in the graveyard at his son-in-law's home, or one of the ghosts that haunt his grandson Mortimer's home.

Life leading up to The Sims 2[edit | edit source]

In The Sims 2, Simon is now buried in the new Goth graveyard, along with both of his daughters, his son-in-law, and his son-in-law's parents. Oddly his wife Prudence's tombstone is missing. Simon uses a character portrait pose that was discontinued during development. If his appearance is changed using the mirror, and no expansion packs are installed, he will use the same character portrait pose as Kent Capp. This also happens with Gunther Goth.

The glasses Simon is wearing are normally only available for children and female adults and elders. If they are removed, they cannot be recovered. While he has grey eyes in The Sims 3, he has brown eyes in The Sims 2. Simon also has short hair which is neatly combed, unlike in The Sims 3 where it isn't combed as neatly. He also wears a navy suit with a striped blue tie, instead of a black suit with a red tie. According to Simon's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was black before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 16 days left in the elder life stage when he died.

Resurrection tip
This Sim can be resurrected with the Tombstone of Life and Death.
