Technically wouldn't that baby be a alien hybrid baby? Cheap novelty 22:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I corrected it. Thanks for the tip. --Makiah (talk) 22:18, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

The Sims 3: Random Babies??[edit source]

I created my own Sim, but got bored, so i created another to be his partner, but when I went to his home, theres a baby on floor, so checked that household and the baby was part of the family! I even saw the Goth Family got an adopted baby

It is the Story Progression feature in The Sims 3. Sims live and die even when you aren't playing them. --a_morris (talk) 17:59, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism[edit source]

Someone vandalized the Player Tips section and replaced it all with "All of you who are doing this , you just have nothing else to do. Get a life. Get off your computer or cell. Or Wii." I deleted it, bu we should be on the lookout for more. And we have to replace all the stuff from player tips he deleted. Simstar3 20:47, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Player tips have been replaced. Dharden 21:15, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Exact clones of parents[edit source]

It seems that in sims 3 babies often grow up to be exact clones of one of their parents. However CAS seems to have lower chances of that happening. 220.255.4.29 09:39, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not an expert of in-game genetics (or real-life genetics), but the way I understand it is that if a Sim only has one parent in their family tree, they technically are clones of their one parent - there was no second Sim to provide genetics, so the game took it all from the one parent. As for Sims with both parents, it's definitely expected for a child to look at least somewhat like their parents, and I have seen examples of where child Sims are extremely similar to one of their parents, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they looked like a clone. LostInRiverview (talk)(blog) 11:55, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
Thats why i went and test it out using 4 different families (all pre-made), and 2 of the families have their son grow up (using the cake) to be exactly like their father, with the only difference being the clothes, hair style(hair color as well) and muscles. However the rest of the kids are more like what you mentioned, with some resemblence to both parents. Seems to be pretty random i guess. 220.255.4.27 16:11, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
In my one family, both the kids looked almost exactly like the father, but if you looked close, they had some of the mother's features. The daughter, Lisa, had the father's hair and eyes, with the mother's nose, face shape, and skintone. The son, Jacob, looked so much like the father I couldn't tell them apart, same hairstyle and everything, but he had his mother's nose and eye shape. Then Lisa grew up and got married, and her daughter had grey eyes like her grandmother (Lisa's mother). So, I think some kids just look more like one parent than the other. That happens in real life, too. Sparrowsong 17:26, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
P.S. Claire Ursine's baby, in my game, always looks more like her but has some subtle Frio genetics (such as green eyes). I think it's the same way in most people's games.

How long[edit source]

How long do the sims have to "play in bed" to be able to "Have" the baby??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.120.64.63 (talkcontribs) 21:56, August 25, 2010 - Sign your comments with ~~~~

It's not a matter of time, just chance. Dharden (talk) 20:43, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

How Do You get The White Blanket In Sims 3

White Blanket[edit source]

I would like to see a picture for the rare white blanket in sims 3 for the baby because there is no real info if it is true or not.♥Icyyy♥ 14:35, March 15, 2011 (UTC)

I kno this is old, but white blanketed babies are not a thing in The Sims 3. That must be Custom Content or a mod. DarkSuicune2000 22:16, August 12, 2018 (UTC)

Retriving lost babies in TS3[edit source]

NOTE: It will not work if your baby has been taken by the social worker, and I only did this once.

If your baby is not in your house and your sims aren't taking it out, and the baby is lost, but still in your relationship panel under "Household," you can retrive it. Merge with another family and put the baby in that household. Then, put the baby back into your family's household! I didn't actually put my baby into my family's household though, I kept her where she was, and she was fine. This MIGHT not work for you. If it works for enough people, please can an admin put this into an article related to babies, losing a child for any reason, or anything else that sounds related to this?

I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you, but it worked for me. And this is the sims 3, and I don't know whether you can do the same with the sims and the sims 2. Try it out on all of the games. XXxCrazyThingXxX (talk) 16:50, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Baby Genetics[edit source]

I read somewhere that Babies don't have any facial genetics except for eyes and eyebrow colour but in my game, the daughter of Pascal Curious had twins and even when they were Babies, One of the twins had huge eyes just like her but the rest of the face was exactly like every other baby. The baby's twin had the same size eyes as every other baby. I was wondering if I was wrong about the circumstances and Babies always have different size and shape eyes or if this is a rarer case? Chunkyheels (talk ) 20:06, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

I don't believe if babies don't have genetics. The way I interpret it, the baby's eyes and eyebrow colors, as well as skin tone, are the only visible genetics that can be viewed easily. That doesn't mean babies don't have genetics. Babies are small, and you may hardly notice the facial structure of the baby's face and head. That is, unless they have notable part of the face, like big eyes like you said. Nikel Talk Vote! 07:16, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

Worshippin' the Baby![edit source]

LOL, I love it when Sims in The Sims 2 give birth. When they get the baby out, it looks like they worship the baby afterwards! -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 07:38, March 17, 2014 (UTC)

Was there any point of that comment? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.222.9.128 (talkcontribs) 14:56 22 February 2015 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

That comment was written almost a year ago. Whether there was or wasn't is of no relevance. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 19:58, February 22, 2015 (UTC)

An Unborn Baby wearing a Nappy?[edit source]

I know this is basically done for modesty, but when Sims get their babies out from their uterus, it's as if they had a nappy on them before they were born! How many real babies do we know who have had nappies before birth? LOL! -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 07:38, March 17, 2014 (UTC)

Twins? Yeah, right.[edit source]

The base game (TS3) dropped twins on my unsuspecting Sims. I guess I should count myself fortunate that both parents were in self-directed career paths (Rock Star and Writer), so could fairly easily take shifts with them. I had to laugh, though, when I checked the kids' traits and found one was a Gemini and the other was an Aquarius despite being born on the same day. 72.183.214.11 (talk) 08:59, June 30, 2014 (UTC)

It depends on their traits and personality. There's no proper months or dates. 2.222.9.128 (talk) 09:07, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
That is in The Sims 2. In The Sims 3, the sign is completely random. Nikel Talk Vote! 12:57, October 4, 2014 (UTC)

Glitchy Baby[edit source]

My Sim was pregnant and when she gave birth, I got a huge shock. After she turned around, the baby stretched so it was the length of the room! Does anyone know how this was caused? Note: I don't use mods or hacks, I just play with cheats. 2.222.9.128 (talk) 09:05, October 4, 2014 (UTC)

What game was this? The Sims 2, The Sims 3, or The Sims 4? --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 10:52, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
It was The Sims 3. I don't want to use any mods, they don't work in my game for some reason. Note: I'm still the person with the Glitchy Baby, I still have it!!! 2.121.19.152 (talk) 11:58, February 1, 2015 (UTC)

Pregnancy as a life stage[edit source]

The lead section of the page says, "Baby is the first life stage in The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4 (excluding pregnancy, in the case of the latter games)." I'm not sure if we can really call pregnancy a life stage in its own right. Doesn't calling it a life state imply that the baby Sim is somehow playable, or that the baby even exists yet? - LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 14:12, July 30, 2015 (UTC)

No, I don't think pregnancy counts as a life stage. It's the female Sim who's pregnant, and it doesn't make her a different stage of life. The Sim hasn't existed yet while one is pregnant. Nikel Talk Vote! 06:32, July 31, 2015 (UTC)
Indeed. I don't think pregnancy counts as a life stage. If it has to be mentioned, it should be mentioned as "unborn", but in general respects, even that isn't really a genuine life stage. While we can't really refrain from using it as a life stage to categorise unborn babies, it's still not an actual life stage. I think the lead section should at least be corrected, if not exactly removed. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:46, July 31, 2015 (UTC)
It's worth mentioning that the lead section of an article is intended to be an overview of the topic. In this case, I think it would be best to remove the parenthetical reference to pregnancy altogether from the lead, and then possibly go into detail about unborn Sims within the article text itself. - LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 14:57, August 1, 2015 (UTC)
