two Cho family pages.[edit source]

I was just wondering.. Why does this family has his own page while the three Crumplebottom sisters are on the same page as the Crumplebottom family? Their relationship with the family isn't known either. Doesn't it make more sense to merge this page with the Cho family of The Sims 2 and state there that a connection between the two is not known? The relationship with the three Crumplebottom sisters isn't know, but it was stated somewhere before the release that they were indeed related to the Crumplebottom family. I don't know where, though! Perhaps it's on one of the sources in The Sims 3: Supernatural. --RoseGui (talk here) 14:22, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Cho is a common surname (I guess). Probably EA made this family while they forget that the name is already reserved, so they can't be related in any way because their names happen to be the same (similar to the Wolffs). The Crumplebottoms, however, are more widely known, like Goths, Dreamers, Pleasants, and Altos. When there's another Crumplebottom introduced, it's safe to assume that they're related in some ways, even though it's never explained how. Nikel Talk Vote! 14:51, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, that makes sense indeed! I was just being curious. Tiezel (talk) curious? 15:18, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah. Like Nikel said, Cho is a common transliteration for VARIOUS Chinese surnames. For all we know EAxis had 2 different Hanzi (chinese symbols) in mind for both families. You can say the same for other quite common surnames. (Smith, Jones, Lee, etc.) OFC they COULD be related, but not necessarily. They could be like Henry and Vadim Simovitch, who are suppose to be related, but distantly enough that don't look much alike, and can easily flirt with each other. (Of course that may be because one's in Riverwiew and the other in Roaring Heights. Bert can flirt with Nick Alto and Frida can flirt with Gunther Goth, and they're siblings.)
We're assuming the Crumplebottoms and Specte\ors are related, because these families were introduced in basegames and thus more important. The Crumplebottoms are the family of Mortimer's mother Cornelia.
Families from TS2 EP packs normally do not crop up in TS3. (Maybe EAxis thinks most TS2 simmers never had any EPs, or that nobody likes the EP families.) Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 14:40, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
