Talking with Sims who dislike children[edit source]
I don't know if anyone else has this problem with the dislikes children trait, but talking to Sims with this trait is extremely difficult, even if it is an adult talking to them. The only way to talk to them properly is be friends with them, chat with them on the phone, or use "chat" and "get to know" over and over.--101.191.44.117 (talk) 04:28, July 9, 2015 (UTC)

- I'm not talking about my opinions, mate. I can befriend them just fine, but talking to those with the "dislikes children" trait in Sims 3 Pets somehow makes them bored by all jokes, asking about careers and flattery even from full grown adults until you befriend them.--101.191.44.117 (talk) 15:51, July 9, 2015 (UTC)
- Dude, it's a broken side-effect of this Dislikes Children trait for some strange reason in whatever version we have. These Sims reject all interactions except for "Chat" or "Get to Know" from EVERYONE - not just from Child Sims.Only from repeated phone calls, computer chatrooms, repeated use of the "Chat" and "Get to Know" interactions as well as socializing at work can you easily befriend them. Only once your Sim and the Sim who Dislikes Children are friends do they begin to accept all other interactions, but they are still less excepting of some interactions at times. The Dislikes Children trait just seems to basically turn any Sim into the biggest snob you can possibly imagine - just add Mean-Spirited and Grumpy for additional rudeness. I've seen other folks talking about this problem on the forums, so this is not a one-player issue. 101.191.88.27 (talk) 23:59, September 9, 2016 (UTC)
Trait glitch[edit source]
I can concur that in my copy of The Sims 3 that this trait is glitched. Sims with the Dislikes Children not only reject any face-to-face interaction other than "Chat" or "Get To Know" from children who are not at friend level, but the trait is glitched in a manner so that any Sims at all who are not at friend level or above are recieved the same way as children. It is easy enough to work around thorugh the use of phone calls, work socialization or computer chatrooms, but it doesn't change the fact that the trait clearly doesn't work as intended in my copy of The Sims 3. It may a result of a bad patch, because there are players who claim that the trait works just fine in their copy of the game. Acherontia Styx (talk) 01:08, August 20, 2018 (UTC)
