Rename to "shock"[edit source]

As I wrote in the move template, I believe this page should be renamed to "Shock" or "Electric shock" rather than electrocution. This is due to the meaning of "Electrocute", which is a portmanteau of "electric" and "execute," and is meant to refer specifically to death from electricity. If a Sim dies from electric shock, it is proper to say that they were electrocuted, but if a Sim is not killed, then they have not actually been electrocuted. - LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 17:40, August 28, 2015 (UTC)

I wasn't aware of its definition, so I checked Wikipedia and it's like what you said. Maybe it's necessary to rephrase the main paragraph like, "Electric shock is a cause when a Sim fails to repair an electrical object. Death caused by electric shock is called electrocution." Frankly, EA has used the term "electrocution" basically everywhere, even if it doesn't mean what it means. It's why Simmers have been quite used to using the word incorrectly.
I'd support to rename the page, but I wouldn't wonder if editors would keep using "electrocute" because they'd think the word is interchangeable. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:24, August 30, 2015 (UTC)
I support this. But I also have to agree with Nikel, it could be a bit confusing. Sims Player (talk) (mistakes) 11:29, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Killed by pressing big red button[edit source]

In Get to Work, a Sim in the Scientist career will automatically be shocked if they use the interaction "Press Big Red Button" on a chemistry lab. The shock is non-lethal but gives the "Seriously Fried" moodlet and will not kill the Sim no matter how many times the interaction is used even if they already had the "Seriously Fried" moodlet before.

My sim died instantly from it (I wasn't even dazed!), I do have mods but I don't think I have any that changes that. I'm running the latest version (patch-16269) of the game with all DLC. --HiddenKnowledge (talk) 19:59, May 23, 2020 (UTC)
