Unique Sim[edit source]
In the game files, a time traveler (or we could say Emit himself) is a:
- Type of role Sim (Sims who are assigned to be mixologists, proprietors, consignment specialists, etc.),
- Type of NPC (Maids, firefighters, repo-men, etc.), and
- A life state
Yes, a time traveler is legitimately part of the three things I mentioned (so ITF actually comes with 2 life states). The thing I don't know is that which type Emit is in, but I suspect Emit himself counts as a life state instead of an NPC or role Sim. Not having installed the game myself, I could only peek in the game files.
I did hear that a Sim's occult type can be turned into a "time traveler" by using Twallan's MasterController. Applying the occult type causes Sims to change their outfit to Emit's. I don't know what else it would do, though. The XML file also makes sure so that Emit always has the 5 predetermined traits and body type instead of random, which is why he always appears the same in every game.
Nothing much is known what else this occult type will do. This is a little similar case to Genie Midlock, who is a unique life state; Sims cannot turn into one, and he always appears the same in every game. Nikel Talk – Vote! 03:40, November 3, 2013 (UTC)
I suspect they actually just cloned Gage Briody and put him in special clothing and with special interactions. Or at least to me he looks like he just has Gage's face. (but so do most special sims...) Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 16:10, May 21, 2014 (UTC)
Gage Briody has the "Pudding face" which is all of the face sliders in the middle. Emit must have it too. :/ DarkSuicune2000 00:28, November 3, 2015 (UTC)
Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 22:11, November 19, 2016 (UTC) I remembering getting Emit's which had sliders that weren't 0-slidered. The first generated Emit seems to may have a specific face that may be generated by breeding sims from Oasis Landing or may be the same sliders each time, but every next Emit (if you end up summoning more than one) is Gage Briody's face and it looks slightly different. If it's an unique face not made by breeding Oasis Landing sims (akin to the faces of sims generated in the WA worlds) then he's a CAS sim who is a Oasis Landing NPC just as much as Lee Singh and Alan Asp, and his NPC type happens to be Time Traveler.
