How can you change your sims' favorites?

:I think you can't... :( - JEA13 [[[User talk:JEA13|iTalk]]] 20:24, November 11, 2009 (UTC) ::
Change of Taste lifetime reward with The Sims 3: World Adventures. --a_morris (talk) 18:29, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

I added the new music type for FLS (Rockabilly). I did not added the icon because I don't the game yet. Here's my source: [1]. 23:45, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, why does nobody even bother updating this page? It's been long time since Late Night was released, but no one seems to really care about some missing info...Nikel23 14:30, February 2, 2011 (UTC)

Actually there is no additional favorite foods for Late Night, so I'm going to take that note down. This is a community, so you can update things too if you'd like! Trimalynn 01:14, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

The Rockabilly icon has been added :)Trimalynn 01:54, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, Trimalynn! Next time, if we need any new images, I'll ask you, okay? Nikel23 07:17, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
Who added those images of Late Night food, such as hot wings foods? In my game (other than O Positive) there are no new foods o.o. Does anyone actually have those foods in the game? --Guilherme GuerreiroThanks rose.png (talk here) 09:10, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
I don't think that those foods belong on this page. They are foods available at bars and clubs. To my knowledge, you can't make them at home without a mod. And they aren't available "favorite" selections. Is there a general food page? rimalynn Skill photo photography camera.png (talk) 13:26, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
No, this is a page dedicated to the favorites, thus those images do not belong here. --Guilherme GuerreiroThanks rose.png (talk here) 13:29, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, that's too bad... at least I've made their Favorite food userboxes... Nikel Talk 10:02, August 19, 2011 (UTC)
ETA: Shame on me, it was I who added those fake favorites... Nikel Talk 10:19, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

TS2 Favorite Food[edit source]

Nightlife added a minor feature, quite vague, which is favorite food. Every Sim is automatically set a favorite food, and it can't be changed by any way. This can be viewed when a Sim goes dining. When Sim looks at the menu, a thought bubble with a food in it tells the Sim's favorite food. The only purpose of this is to add a few score for outing and dating.
Hence, I'd like to ask whether it's essential to be added in this article, or it will only smear it as this article only describes TS3. Nikel Talk 11:23, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

As far as I know, the food that shows in the thought bubble is what that Sim would like to eat at that meal. It appears to be based on how hungry the Sim is, as it always seems to be something that just fills the Sim's Hunger bar. I don't think it is a true favorite food, and therefore, it should not be mentioned. Dharden (talk) 20:35, January 25, 2012 (UTC)
I actually have 2 evidence, but not too strong. Prima Guide stated it clearly, and it has brief impact on outing feature. The other one can be found in ffs debugger. There, you can see a Sim's favorite foods, which are interestingly different based on the podiums (NL or OFB). I never doubt Pescado's work. Also, try using your Sim dining over and over (by using NL podium to make things less confusing), and see what's on his thought bubble. Nikel Talk 15:25, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
OK, I checked the "batbox" and it does have that option. I'm assuming it's a token, somewhat like the "One True Hobby", and guessing that it might be set for each podium when a Sim eats at a restaurant that has that podium. It might be a precursor of favorite foods in The Sims 3, but I don't think it's the same thing. Dharden (talk) 20:53, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
Well, people still can assume so... or not. It doesn't really need to be pointed out anyway. Nikel Talk 15:28, January 27, 2012 (UTC)

Showtime Favorite?[edit source]

It says that Chad Luck has Vegetarian Lobster Thermidor favorite food. Is it a new favorite food? Are there many favorite foods in Showtime that have not been added here? Or it's simply a variation of Lobster Thermidor, and Chad's favorite food should be rewritten with just Lobster Thermidor instead? Nikel Talk 07:20, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Supernatural Userboxes[edit source]

If anyone would want to create userboxes for Supernatural favorites, that'd be much appreciated. Otherwise, I'd try to make it when I return from absence. Nikel Talk Vote! 14:42, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

New Radio stations[edit source]

Is there any way to make new radio station? I don't want to add my music to custom music. (talk) 20:45, September 14, 2013 (UTC)

Do names affect favourites?[edit source]

A few (real) days ago, I had a infant whom I named Horus. His favourite music was Egyptian and his favourite food was the Falafel. Is this just a coincidence? (talk) 14:44, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

I'd say it's just a coincidence. I don't suppose the game will recognize Sim's names. Unless this is an exception and counts as an Easter egg, which I doubt. Nikel Talk Vote! 18:00, November 15, 2013 (UTC)
Yup, or maybe the game searchs the name of the baby sim on the internets, and then gives out matching traits and favorites based on what the game found.
Plus, you can have a sim named Horus even before installing WA (I.E. just the base game) so... (talk) 13:41, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
The Sims isn't an online game, and it is clearly answered by Nikel. If you agree with this then My baby's name is Elisabeth and she likes kids and hamurger, since my Sim's name is an English and the favorites isn't likely a British type. Conclusion: It doesn't affected and like Nikel said, it's just a coincidence. ThePeculiarMe | (talk to me) 14:00, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
Yup, let's say i'm playing the Keatons and when the baby is born i name him Horus, depending on the expansion i have his fave music could be anything from DigiTunes to Dark Wave to Beach Party to Rockabilly to Songwriter to everything in between. The same things for the fave foods. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 08:26, August 11, 2014 (UTC)

Sea Foam[edit source]

There's something weird about this color. The UI.dll file determines its red component as 270 (which is greater than 255) and when converted to hex its value is turned into 0e (as ff + 1 = 0 etc.). This hex color is also used for the sonic shower waves and the synthesized drinks causing them to be rather turquoise. After further testing, I also found out that the amount of red was supposed to be 207 - two digits were simply switched. -- (talk) 17:33, April 26, 2015 (UTC)

I would say that you are probably right because 270 is rounded as a value of 0E or 14 by most editors (including in-game). However, some graphic editors cap values over FF or 255, which would make 270 FF or 255. Comparing the three color values, I would say that 207 would be the intended color as it matches the name. Here's a table below to show the three colors.
