Hybrid's[edit source]

You All Realise That There Is Another Way To Get Grim Reaper Hybrids. Ok, Here It Is In Steps.

Step One (Only Step): Enter Your Neighborhood View, And Open The Cheats Bar (Ctrl+Shift+C) Then Enter "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true", After That, Enter Which ever House You Want A Hybrid To Be Born In. Then, Kill Off A Sim, When You Do, The Grim Reaper Will Appear, After He's Standing There just Calling God (I Assume) Click On The Selected Sim, And Spawn "Tombstone Of Life & Death". While The Grim Is Still In Your House. Select A Female And Click On The Tombstone Stone And Select "Get Me Pregnant With..." And Then The Grim's Name Should Appear As An Option.

The Sims 3[edit source]

FREEDOM 55I would just just like to express my great discontent of the look of the new grim reaper. The Sims 2 versions looks loads better appeatrance wise. he loks way cooler;p . Fiddling with the Grim Reaper in any way, shape or form is ill-advised. It's likely that he has some link to some critical file that will bork your game if it is so much as touched, at least in my experience. --Aaaaannooooo!!! 08:45, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

What is the true gender of the Grim Reaper ?[edit source]

It's not a glitch, it's a joke on the part of the developers. You will also find the Hula Zombies are male. It has no effect on gameplay. Don't touch it. --Aaaaannooooo!!! 08:45, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Nervous Subject[edit source]

To clear up any confusion, as far as I'm aware WooHoo or Try for Baby with the Grim Reaper is impossible during normal gameplay of The Sims 2. What EAxis did (probably) was create Nervous Subject as a clone of the Grim Reaper then fudge Olive's memories and family tree with data editing to make it look as if a certain situation had arisen. Nervous Subject is, if I have understood correctly, what the Grim Reaper would look like if s/he were male and had a face. His genetics for his appearance at least are what the Grim Reaper's would be if s/he had genetics. Oddly he is one of the few denizens of Strangetown with intact genetics, possibly because he was added to the neighbourhood at a later stage than the others. It is likely that Olive's genetics were not used:

  1. in order to add a sense of mystery so players would investigate further and uncover the "clue" in Olive's memories
  2. because EAxis didn't want to look racist by implying the Beakers were keeping a dark-skinned person for use in experiments.

The fact there are two Nervous Subjects in Strangetown's character files is probably not some sort of key to the whole conspiracy: it is more likely an artefact of EAxis's incompetent data editing. And by the way, if you use the Tombstone of L and D to make a Sim pregnant with the Grim Reaper, you will get a cross between your Sim and a female with the first default Maxis face. They will be nothing like Nervous Subject unless you actually use Nervous Subject in the process. --Aaaaannooooo!!! 09:06, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Gender[edit source]

I checked SimPE for the Grim Reapers gender. He is to be treated as male in Pleasantview and Veronaville, but female in Strangetown. --a_morris (talk) 03:56, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Try getting 2 sims, one with unlucky and clumsy traits, the other with charismatic trait and level 10 charisma. Then press ctrl+shift+c all at the same time to open the game console and type in: testingCheatsEnabled true. Exactly like it's written (without the period and with the space). Then open the unlucky sim's motives and drag the bladder bar all the way to zero, so he/she will wet their pants, then drag the hunger bar to zero while standing in the same place (this usually works best when the sim is at ground level). The sim will die and the Reaper will show up, usually staying to clean up the puddle. That works most of the time for me.007Hazmatt 06:19, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Getting the Reaper to move in the Sims 3.[edit source]

So, I've been reading these articles about getting the Grim Reaper to move in but, so far, I've been unsuccessful. I own every single expansion pack, including Late Night, and I have the testingCheatsEnabled true cheat in and have done everything instructed here (Made 2 sims one with unlucky and clumsy, and one with charismatic). The sim with the charismatic trait has level 10 charisma, I've made a small cage where I put the other sim and make it urinate, die, and then the Reaper shows up. I can even get him to stay almost every time if the sim wets himself before he dies (because the Reaper will always clean it up if left alone). I am at a full relationship bar with him, I've tried getting the "Ask to Move In" option with being friendly, still nothing. I've tried making a band with him, and I have the band but it won't let me add him (I assume it's because he can't play an instrument so I've tried jamming with him several times), still nothing. Currently, I'm trying to make him my boyfriend, but the second I hit "Extremely Irresistable," he disappears. Every time! The whole point of all of this is because I want a Reaper hybrid child without using mods (they lag my game horribly).

Any ideas on what I should try now?007Hazmatt 06:11, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

How do you get the grim reaper to join your band?

So I've been trying to get the grim reaper to move in for a long time and I've failed every attempt. But, this wikia says that you can ask him to join your band. I have a band of 2 people and it still won't give me the option to ask him while he's lingering around my lot. I assumed that it was because he had no music skill, so I gave him a skill building drink and got him to jam with me (he's hilarious on the drums :D). But, after do that a couple of times it still won't let me. I've tried many times to get him to join my household (read my comment above). Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is it my game? I have the latest patch and it says nothing about stopping the Reaper from joining your band, it just says that Grim won't stop reaping even if he's in a band? O_o.

Could someone please help?007Hazmatt 17:56, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Sims 3 Reaper Can Be Killed, add a section for it?[edit source]

I recently went on a killing spree in Sims 3 using a Gun Mod I downloaded from modthesims, and in the process I killed the Reaper. His death spawns a secret message box which explains that if you decide to kill him, none of the bodies will disappear and Sims will not have graves. You can then make the desicion to either leave the Reaper or kill him. I could grab a screenshot for clarification if required.

My email is (e-mail address removed)

I don't want to edit the page myself, I think a member should do this.

Thank you,

I strongly recommend removing this section. It misrepresents a mod's text message as canonical game text.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Kiwi tea (talkcontribs) (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
Yeah, I would say that since the death of the grim reaper is related to a mod, it should not be included in the actual article. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 22:00, December 26, 2010 (UTC)
I think removing the section is better, because the text is related to a gun mod at MTS, and the text could be related to it as well. Also sims can't kill other sims or the grim reaper in the game, which means that the creators couldn't have created a pop up thingy like that, right? And, after all, this can be proved by someone adding Ani's "Dexter Mod" that is a murdering mod as well, then try to kill the Reaper. If the message does not appear, then it is simply based on a hacked object.|_Andronikos Leventis 08:24, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

Playing Chess with the Reaper?[edit source]

I remember when I still had Life Stories installed, and Dylan Kincaid had a strange household wish or something were he wished to beat Death in Chess. I never had the time to test it, so, is that possible?|_Andronikos Leventis 20:49, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

1,Yes it is here are the steps to complete that wish,

2, Buy a chess set

3,Get selected sim play alot of chess to raise the skill level of that sim

4,Kill sim on that lot

5,Click on the chess set and ask grim to play a game of chess

6,Your sim should win and complete that wish!

[im 90% sure of this will work]—Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.131.41.199 (talkcontribs) (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

you can also cheat death and make him bring a sim back to life by:

1. choose to play chess for the loved one

2. once you and grim start cancel the action

3. watch him bring the sim back

4. then just kill the sim again and do all of it over

so if you wanna get grim in using a normal family and wanna do anything with out any cheats at all just do that

moving in issues[edit source]

I've got charismatic, before anyone asks, and the grim reaper is a romantic interest for my girl, but I don't get an option to "ask to move in"

I've tried everything! It's not that he won't move in, I just can't see the dang button! Also, I've got legendary host, and I've thrown 2 amazing parties, but he didn't show up to either. What's going on here? - Valentir

Grim Reaper in Medieval[edit source]

Probably a The Grim Reaper from the Sims Medieval, maybe after so long a new Reaper takes the place of the old one, the current one being Nervous Subject's father.--Eduardog3000 02:34, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

God, if that's the reaper in medieval, then EA finally did something right and created a beautiful one. He is magnificent! As Eduardog3000 stated above, he could be Grim Reaper Sr.! |_Andronikos Leventis Talk 08:04, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I like to think that (in the Sims series), while a single Grim Reaper could continue to do his job as long as he wants, he can have a son, and when that son is old enough, he would take his father's place. I think the Medieval Grim is maybe the Great-Great-Grandfather of the Grim from The Sims 3 and The Sims 1, and the Grim from The Sims 2 (Nervous' possible father) is the son of the Grim from 3 and 1. I made a possible family tree here.--Eduardog3000 22:22, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm... I think this Grim Reaper is beautiful, but in my opinion we could think on this Grimmy as the same Grim Reaper who is possibly the father of Nervous Subject, Grim Reaper is a deceased creature and he represents Death in popular culture, considering he represents death and disgrace he would be immortal in my point, but he has been updating his clothes to fit the current age, any thoughts? --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 17:53, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Guilherme makes a good point. Also, if we think that Sims use much more advanced technology than we do, I think it is safe to suggest that The Sims 2 is somewhere between 2100 and 2200 and The Sims Medieval is around 1000 and 1500, this gives a maximum amount of 1200 years! I think that the reaper might have had a son and a second son who is Nervous Subject. The first son, Grim Reaper Jr. might be the one in The Sims 1, 2 and 3 and Nervous Subject could have been a reaper as well, but he failed. Do I make sense? |_Andronikos Leventis Talk 18:18, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

i wonder if more then one death can occour there and what does grim do when it does and i also wonder if normal death causes caan occour and that at those times it at least gives time to save them then and should there be a grave for the death and ghost?

i am also wondering about actions in the sims 3 2 and 1

what is the name of the grim reaper's action

i already know the action for a sim's death is called "expire" witch stands for end as inthe end of the sim's life and

i was wondering what the name of the action of the reaper's name for the interaction with the dying sim

ideas of the names are:

1. reap

2. expire

3. take soul

4. take

i have figured out the name for the action for when grim disappears

it is disappear

i seen it when i got him to be active and when i killed him by bringing his hunger down he just rolled up into a ball and stayed that way—Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.171.135.0 (talkcontribs) (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Question Regarding the Sims 3[edit source]

Regarding the Sims 3 Christmas trailer, it said "your sister dates Death instead of your boyfriend" or something like that, while this Goth chick is happily snogging the Grim Reaper. Did they take that mechanic out of the game? 207.216.197.154 06:33, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

It is indeed possible to kiss the Grim Reaper, but it is very difficult to do. He only stays in every 1 in 15 visits, or something like that. And you really need to be an Inappropriate sim, with lifetime rewards for easy romance, things giving relationship boosts at the start, etc. --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 09:22, April 11, 2011 (UTC)

Requiring cleanup[edit source]

Sadly there isn't and I think it's mostly to do with the fact that the PC is a more open platform than the console, meaning that there are more possibilities in addition to content and modifications. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 01:42, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Warning box for object NPCs[edit source]

Someone should add a warning box stating that the Grim Reaper is not to be messed with. All of the object NPCs will corrupt your game if you add them to a family or in some other way interact with them outside their in-game purpose. There's already a warning box like this for Mrs. Crumplebottom (who is an object NPC) and if someone could create a similar one for Grim it would probably deter inexperienced players who don't know about object NPCs and why it is very bad to mess with them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.105.16.75 (talkcontribs) 20:21, March 11, 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
