Should we remove the lifetime wish?[edit source]

I was watching this youtube video of this guy creating a teen sim, and when he went to the traits, he find no lifetime wish button. So, that might mean that there's no lifetime wish for teens. So, should we remove it lifetime wish?

Life time wishes come up randomly like regular wishes during the child and teen ages and can be chosen by the player or ignored until they become a young adult. --a_morris (talk) 18:48, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Related to her parents[edit source]

My CAS married Holly Alto and had a child with black hair/white tips like Nick Alto. Is this a random occurance in all sims or is it a possible result of her genes - her being the actual daughter of her parents?

Split Articles[edit source]

I think it's quite clear that Holly Alto in Sims 3 on PC and Holly Alto in Sims 3 on DS are different, so why do they share an article? Malcolm Landgraab in Sims 3 on PC and Malcolm Landgraab on the Sims Console have separate articles and at least they could be the same person.

Sorry for not signing the post, but can I have an answer on that. I'm confident they're two different people. The Samster 19:52, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

Since they have the same name it may be a bit difficult to say whether they are different people or not. But considering their personalities I'd say they are not the same person. --RoseGui (talk here) 20:25, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

Updated with new information[edit source]

"If story progression is left alone Holly will sometimes date, or develop a relationship with Malcolm Landgraab."

not true.. in my story if i leave her alone with her parents she will be always with VJ Alvi ...

Thank you for pointing that out. Usually, when story progression is enabled, anything may happen really. I'll remove that note. Thank you for your contribution! (: --RoseGui (talk here) 22:33, December 30, 2011 (UTC)
Yup. Even Sandi French\Buster Clavell, really. Just have Buster turn into a vampire (or mummy or fairy) that lives long enough to see Sandi turn into an Young Adult and have a relationship with her... Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 21:53, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

Article Split (II)[edit source]

I've seen other proposals to split up the Holly Alto's page but nothing is actually being done. They are clearly not the same person. Is there any where an offical proposal can be decided? Freedom50000 02:45, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Well I guess we should since the other Holly Alto takes place years after the one in Sunset valley. I guess we should split it now. Starmoonie(Talk Here) 02:47, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you Star. Freedom50000 02:52, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Holly becoming a witch[edit source]

If anyone has Supernatural installed and let it develop, have they ever gotten Nick becoming a werewolf, Vita becoming a fairy and Holly becoming a witch? I think it's just something random that happened or is it to support Holly is not related to Vita and Nick biologically? 198.45.147.197 (talk) 21:27, November 16, 2012 (UTC)Shell

Yeah, enabling supernatural occults in the story progression will turn random Sims into any occults. I never really realized which Sims in my neighborhood the game turns, but it's simply random. Nikel Talk Vote! 05:45, November 18, 2012 (UTC)

Blonde or Brown?[edit source]

There's been some debate as to whether Holly's hair is blonde or brown. I personally find it really tough to determine what hair colour she should be categorised under. Her hair seems to be in-between blonde and brown, more or less in perfect balance. As a matter of fact it looks as though she has both light brown and blonde hair, when looking at her hair and highlights. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:05, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

I've always thought the hair color was blonde. What do others think? Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 03:58, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
I think it's definitely a chestnut hair color! DarkSuicune2000 Check out my profile! 04:36, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
Although I've never thought of her hair being chestnut, that could be a solution to this debate, although we'd probably need to wait to see what others think.
I've always considered Holly's hair to be light brown with blonde highlights. Because even though Holly's hair is definitely closer to being blonde than it is to being, say brunette, I definitely do not consider Holly's hair to be "yellow" enough to be blonde.
Blonde, while not necessarily being yellow, does typically have a somewhat yellowish tint in it. Whereas Holly's hair is more of a caramel colour, as opposed to a golden colour. But then there's often been a debate as to where the cut off between light brown and dark blonde is. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:45, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
Her hair has always looked strawberry blond to me, at least on the default Sunset Valley lighting. I won't say she has brown hair or chestnut. The in-game pics have shadows over them, so she looks browner. Chestnut hair is closer to Vita's hair color (and Christopher Steel, River McIrish, etc.) than Holly.
And Strawberry Blond should be included in Blond not Custom. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 11:15, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
Strawberry blonde is more of a blondish ginger, as far I'm concerned, not a blondish brown colour etc. On other wikis I've always categorised strawberry blonde under the same category as ginger.
But Holly's hair (minus the blonde streaks) is definitely not blonde, and neither is Bebe Hart's (also minus the streaks). Malcolm Landgraab's hair and Bianca Crumplebottom's hair is. Too bad we typically refrain from categorising Sims under two hair colour categories if they've only appeared in one game. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:29, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
If you give a non-dreadlocked hairstyle to Bebe, you can see she has brown hair with blond tips and highlights. Holly has full-on one haircolor with slightly lighter and darker shades of it. It seems to be more orangish than Malc and Nancy's yellow. But it's not full-out orange or "light red". http://redhairideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Light-Skin-Shades-of-Red-Hair1-236x300.jpg not quite this, http://media1.popsugar-assets.com/files/2014/06/30/737/n/29590734/553be29d05415520_thumb_temp_cover_file351126361404140716.xxxlarge/i/Funny-Celebrity-GIFs-About-Women-Blonde-Hair.jpg not quite this, http://katdelunaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/some-facts-about-strawberry-blonde-hair-color.jpg but more this.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Neither of them particularly resemble Holly Alto's hair colour to be honest. Holly's hair is more of a caramel brown as opposed to an orangey colour. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 20:36, August 22, 2015 (UTC)

Her hair looks light brown to me. Perhaps a dark tan, but that is about it. That is my thoughts. S*pphir3 St*rdust (talk) 22:34, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
We don't really say that people have tan hair, but I'd agree on the light brown bit anyway, usually "tan" in this case would be referred to as a light brown. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:05, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, the color itself would be a shade of "tan", http://s24.photobucket.com/user/Zeleana/media/hollyface_zpsf5280e31.jpg.html or perhaps orange, https://wildesoates.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/screenshot-357.jpg?w=640&h=384 but in real life it'd be considered a strawberry blond... Something like this? http://www.besthairstyles2013.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/6_strawberry-blonde-hair-2013.jpg  Or maybe it needs to be a bit oranger and lighter to be considered it?
I won't say her hair is caramel-colored, though... Gravy, or peanut butter, or nut shells themselves, but not caramel. http://ambush.cachefly.net/brandImages/Famous-Caramel_drizzle.jpg
Maybe we could say her hair is ochre, instead. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ochre
my MS paint calls it either brown or reddish-brown...
Maybe we should stick with scribbling the hexcodes (for both hair and eye colors) and put them on some program that say what color it is. (they do it on the MLP wiki)
And I mean the actual hexcodes the hair is CASt-ed at, not just picking the color from an image taken in-game, because then, the colors can be deceiving. Not only various hair styles blend the colors and\or don't make the color look exactly right, but the resolution can be low, and some worlds have odd lighting. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 16:30, August 23, 2015 (UTC)
I've just selected a few colours in Microsoft Word which are very much like Holly's hair colour, and the program either calls them brown or tan. I think the real problem we've been having with the back and forth, yes her hair colour is this, no it is that, is because the shade of brown that shows up in the infobox does not accurately represent Holly's hair colour. Yet when I look at her hair colour, it clearly doesn't pass off as blonde.
I'm a little unsure where I stand at this moment, because her hair is not all one colour, and the way we currently categorise Sims makes it difficult for users to just settle with one category. Yet if we did make a wider range of categories, then that would make things confusing, complicated, and would require a lot of alterations to categories and templates.
I was thinking of maybe having some templates altered slightly so that light brown can be categorised as brown rather than custom, and possibly have a different colour picture to go with it. But then we'd probably have to discuss it with other editors of the community, and see if they'd be happy with this. Of course, if the majority of the community were happy with this, and if they agreed that an additional hair colour picture was necessary, then someone would have to upload one. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:04, August 24, 2015 (UTC)
Maybe she really does have light brown hair (with orange\strawberry blond highlights) but still. Some sims have hair that's literally red, others have more orange\ginger hair, but they have the same category. Okay her hair is somewhat lighter and much brighter than usual light brown, but this is cartoony-land (or videogame-land) we're talking about, not a realistic background. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 13:11, August 24, 2015 (UTC)
I know that this isn't a realistic background, and I do agree that Holly Alto's hair is mostly light brown, so she should belong under the category "Brown haired Sims". I wouldn't say that her highlights are orange/strawberry blonde, so I'd just stick with "blonde highlights". I'm still unsure how to settle this, and weaken the odds of having other users putting her under the category "Blonde haired Sims", because at quick glance, I know for certain that she doesn't belong under that category, and I'm sure that several other users feel much the same way, or close enough. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 07:06, August 25, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, it's much lighter than her parent's hair, but she would be considered brown-haired compared to the Bunch siblings or Malcolm Landgraab. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 08:01, August 25, 2015 (UTC)
I agree with that, which is why I "insisted" that she be categorised as a "brown haired Sim" in the first place. Admittedly there are a wider range of brown hair colours than there are of blonde ones. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:20, August 25, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, if she was a strawberry blonde her hair would be more like the Durwood twins'    hair colors. Her hair is clearly not the same color as them. Actually blond can go a wide range of hair colors too. (platinum blond, dark blond, strawberry blond, greenish-blond, ash-blond, bright yellow, golden blond, light blond...) And so can redhead. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 18:06, August 25, 2015 (UTC)
I know that blonde has a wide range of hair colours, but maybe not quite as wide a range as brown, as evidenced by light brown that's almost blonde, and dark brown that's almost black. As for Holly's hair colour, I've added light brown to the GetAppearanceCat template, so that it will categorise as brown, so hopefully this should settle this "brown vs. blonde" debate. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:53, August 26, 2015 (UTC)
I have found an image of light brown hair and have added it to the GetAppearance2Image template. If brown didn't settle this debate, I'll be surprised if light brown doesn't. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:45, August 29, 2015 (UTC)
