Age[edit source]

How old could Jeff Pleasant have been at the time of The Sims 3? OoppDecks (talk) 10:01, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

Jeff Pleasant would have been a teenager at the time of TS3. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 10:08, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
I think he'd be a teenager nearing adulthood, or a young adult. His son Daniel was only 9 Sim days younger than Mortimer in The Sims 2, so Jeff would have to have been quite a bit older than Mortimer to be middle aged in The Sims and deceased in The Sims 2. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 02:59, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
Seems legit. I created him as a teenager in the Sims 3. OoppDecks (talk) 05:51, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
On second thought, I'm pretty sure Jeff would at least have been at the start of the young adult life stage at the time of the Sims 3, because Daniel would either have just been born at this time, or just after. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 03:04, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
No. Jeff would have been a teenager at the start of TS3. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 07:03, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
Well? I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm still entitled to my own perspective. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 07:08, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
One theory is that he and Diane are young adults during The Sims 3 which takes place approximately 50 years before The Sims 2. I back this up by saying that Daniel appear to be around 40-50 years old during the second game. Also, Jeff appears to in his late forties in the first game. OoppDecks (talk) 07:28, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
Bob Newbie and Betty Newbie were in their 40s-50s during TS and they were teenagers in TS3. Keeping with the timeline consistency, it would make sense that Jeff would also be a teenager. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 09:13, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, but the Riverview timeline in the Sims 3 doesn't necessarily take place around the same time as the Sunset Valley one. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:25, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
There is no evidence to support that the timelines for Riverview and Sunset Valley take place at different times. It would make no sense canonically for their timelines to diverge at different points. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 20:06, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
But then there's no evidence to support that the timelines for Riverview and Sunset Valley take place at the same time either. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 22:59, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
Actually there is evidence. The Goth family and the Newbie family prove that Sunset Valley and Riverview stem from the same timeline. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 07:07, October 25, 2014 (UTC)
It proves that it could be around a similar time line, but there's no confirmation that it is the same timeline. Also Brandi is much younger than Daniel, so it makes sense to assume that Daniel's parents are probably older. Another reason is because I subtracted all their ages, and according to my discoveries, there is no guarantee that Daniel wasn't born before the timeline of Sunset Valley. My theory is at least partially supported by the fact that Daniel's family wasn't present in the Sims 3 so it makes it impossible to be absolutely sure what age Daniel's ancestors or Daniel himself were at that time. My theory is that Daniel was a newborn baby when Mortimer was a child (which matches the difference in their ages in the Sims 2). Just supposing that my theory is correct, Jeff would have been a young adult (Daniel is much older than Brandi, so it makes sense for Jeff to be older than Bob and Betty). -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:03, October 26, 2014 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────"Proof" is a tricky word when dealing with the in-universe timeline. EA all but destroyed any continuity within the timeline during TS3, so it's hard if not impossible to say with absolute certainty whether a given world is at the same time or later/earlier than another world. And even so, that's irrelevant to this line of discussion because Jeff Pleasant never appeared in Sunset Valley or Riverview. The only occurrence of the Pleasants within TS3 is Daniel and Mary Sue in Sunlit Tides. But, that just further proves that the timeline is screwed up because, by the standard theory, TS3 is set 50 years prior to TS2. Not to mention, Daniel would have to age down between TS3 and TS1 in order for any of it to make sense.

But all this discussion is really not relevant at all, considering that any postulating about how old Jeff would've been in The Sims 3 is conjecture and assumption, and thus doesn't belong in the article to begin with. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 01:25, October 26, 2014 (UTC)

While my opinions remain unchanged, I agree that this doesn't belong in the article to begin with (I wasn't even the person to add the information in the article to start with). -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:28, October 26, 2014 (UTC)
In TS1, Daniel is supposedly teenaged, if we assume TS1 Daniel is around 13, then TS1 Jeff and Diane would be around 31 at least. Thus making them at least 6 in TS3. (and thus around the same age as Morty and Bella?) ANYWAYS TS3 is NOT TS1's Prequel, but TS2's! Calling TS3 the prequel of TS1, would mean Daniel, Jennifer, and John all aged DOWN by quite a few years. And their TS2 ages mean nothing since in that game, only the played household ages. Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 10:54, February 1, 2015 (UTC)
