Titles[edit source]

I notice that certain music pieces contains different titles specifically in Built Mode and Buy Mode. I understand the artist has a title for them and the original soundtrack has another title.  Both of the artist's and OST's titles are provided here but some of these pieces were reintroduced in later games with another title that is different from either the artist's or the OST's specifically in The Sims 4 under their retro category. These titles were added here shortly before it was removed by K6ka.  Shouldn't the title of these pieces in later installments be at least noted here since they are the exact same piece? And vice versa on the Sims 4 music list. 198.27.235.160 (talk) 21:07, December 19, 2017 (UTC)

They could be added in a footnote. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 21:14, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the titles in the footnote, but I still think we should not belittle certain titles such as by putting into the footnotes. It is ideal to include the alternative titles by adding an extra column like "alternative names", "artist's name",or "original title".  This way, the contents can abide by on currently how EA has intended to label them. Remember, this Wikia focuses on the Sims franchise which along with its developing studio Maxis are all owned by EA today, not the song artists' or EA back then when they released the OST.  Also, the song "Groceries" was also reintroduced as "Simbuy" and Neighborhood 1, "Now Entering" or "Smooth Jazz E" were reintroducted as "Sim Neighborhood" in the Sims 4 under retro.  Buy mode 4 is titled "Sim Market" according to Wikipedia. 198.27.235.160 (talk) 21:58, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
The new titles from more recent games can be (and are) included in their respective "List of songs in <game>" articles, like List of songs in The Sims 2 and List of songs in The Sims 3. If people are looking at List of songs in The Sims, they're expecting the names of songs from The Sims 1 and not later games. A footnote should suffice in those cases. We already have in parenthesis the alternate names for the songs at the time they were released, so that should be enough information. This wiki does indeed contain information about the entire franchise, but the article we're talking about only covers one game. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 22:06, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
