I reinstalled my game yesterday and this is what the neighborhood says when you first enter your town:

Congratulations! Thanks to the recent completion of the Old Town Renovation Project and passing of the resolution 309b Z-2a, your neighborhood has been incorporated into SimCity's new historic Old Town district. A joint project of the mayor's office and the Grateful Citizens Committee, Old Town offers convenience without sacrificing community. "Old Town... breathing old life into a new community!"

This means that the entirety of Neighborhood 1 was incorporated into Old Town... meaning that all of Neighborhood 1 was Old Town, not just the southern and western sections. I propose that this all be moved to Old Town. M. H. Avril 07:43, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

OTOH, Old Town is the same in every neighborhood. Dharden 18:45, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

Neighborhood 1 for The Sims 2[edit source]

I was just wondering if somebody knows where you can get a recreation of this neighborhood for The Sims 2, preferrably with Old Town included. I don't really care if it's just the empty template. Also, if you post a link, could you please certify that the site is safe, with no redirects or pop-up windows. I've had a bad experience with those. OoppDecks (talk) 08:55, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Regional variants of Neighborhood 1[edit source]

One thing (maybe) worth mentioning: The localized versions are bound to the regional CDs. The English(UK)/French/German/Italian/Dutch/Swedish CD from Europe always installs the European-style houses, the English(US)/Spanish CD from North America always installs the American-style houses.

Changing the language with REGEDIT.EXE won't affect the houses or the Asian Sims' appearances, but their names may change if you haven't played them yet.

Some fans, like the folks from SimEchoes [1] seem to wrongly identify the North American designs as redesigns made for Deluxe Edition, which could mean Deluxe and later Deluxe-based compilations (Mega Deluxe and Complete Collection, for example) always installs the American Neighborhood even on other regions. But since I haven't come across an European Deluxe Edition CD, I can't confirm that. They could also just be confused after buying imports. -- Ryo205 16:14, March 9, 2019 (UTC)

I have The Sims: Triple Deluxe that was only available in Europe and I can confirm that it comes with the American Neighborhood. —Gvaudoin 💬 19:15, March 9, 2019 (UTC)
